Queen Victoria continued to reign in Britain in what was, perhaps, the country's most glorious era (she even made a rare visit to London that year but would die in 2001).

The Labour Party was formed in Britain. Although it would be years before they managed to be voted into power (I wrote an interesting PhD paper on the demise of the Liberal Party and the rise of the Labour Party is anyone is foolish enough to be interested in reading it ;) ) they have systematically managed to fuck up the country more and more every time they've been voted in (I am praying that they are soundly defeated in this year's election).

A bunch of shit happened during that whole Boer War thingy down in South Africa (including the Siege of Mafeking).

Reginald Fessenden, a Canadian inventor (contrary to popular belief he was not American), made the first wireless radio broadcast on December 23 near Washington D.C.

Other stuff happened too but I can't be bothered going through it all as I've got to get back to playing Army of Two.
Perhaps it would be of passing interest to you to know that I am related to Queen Victoria. You may conduct yourself accordingly.
You should make your avatar one of the queens!

I am just gonna dream and be convinced that post #50,000 here was one of the posts about Cut deciding to stay at Duke.
That's my story. I'm stickin' to it and no one is gonna change my mind about it . As Ozzie said, his decision was just fine for a milestone for me today and anyone who is a fan or is soon gonna be a huge fan of Duke FB. :D :ymdevil:

Today a football coach at Duke told an AD at Tennessee to stuff it. That's a great milestone.

Not sure yet, I shall let the market decide. It shall definitely be dark and sweet though. I'll let you know. :-)

1500. A cool number. Also a leap year.

Don't forget it was only 491 years away from the first Duke National Championship!

You're closer than you think. Duke's first National Championship was in 1986. Of course, that was in Men's Soccer, not basketball. B-)

Probably a Named/Endowed Professor makes the most sense.
You could also be chair of the PW department.
Perhaps a Dean comes next, followed by a Provost (or you can have a Chancellor).
From there, you could technically become a member of the National Academy of PW's.
Then move your way to be chair of a committee of such an august association.
Then you could work your way up to achieve Presidency of the group.
From there, I don't know... international academy of PW's?
Beats me...
