When one deputy calls another deputy "cupcake," it's going to be an interesting case.
There's a Corporal Cupcake, a German Shepherd, in an episode of M*A*S*H.
My favorite series. I still get the feeling of lying in bed on a Saturday morning as a teenager hearing the helicopters in the opening credits. I know it was filmed in southern CA but the hills look like those behind our compound in Seoul.

Kept the jury out for five hours, that’s an accomplishment given how damn dead to rights they had my guy.
If you kept a jury out past an hour on a dead-bang loser, that's an accomplishment.

My first jury trial here, which should never have been charged in the first place, the jury was out three hours before acquitting, and the Judge told me I had a future in trial practice. (It was a self-defense case. There was no doubt the defendant shot and killed the dead guy; the question was whether the dead guy beating his buddy to a pulp and then turning an aluminum baseball bat on the defendant constituted self-defense. The boss suddenly had to be someplace the day it was set and left it for wet-behind-the-ears LG to try, two months into her career.) :9f:

Professor Sara Sun Beale told us if we went into criminal law we would make the least money and have the best stories.

I don't know if I have the best stories, but I have found that when I'm at conferences with civil attorneys, I never end up picking up a bar tab. :duke: :9f:

My favorite series, too.

And when you lose your first real jury, there's no pressure about keeping a record intact.

My first actual jury trial was when I was a summer intern in Norfolk. A third offense shoplifting. The guy stole a really hideous pair of suede Reeboks.

Jury gave him a year.
