I have done a few dozen CJA cases in my career.

Actually tried a bank robbery case, my only criminal jury trial.

Kept the jury out for five hours, that’s an accomplishment given how damn dead to rights they had my guy.

He got an upward departure on his sentence, though, when he accused the judge of judicial misconduct.

And, of course, for shooting at a cop in the middle of a busy street and shooting a teller with birdshot.
