Because she is still smarter than her constituents?

Actually, this is why education is under attack, from kindergarten all the way to the elites (you know, anyone who has finished college). In the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king (Erasmus, I believe).

Melania all-in on the grift. See, you don't have to be born with it. It can be an acquired skill. Or perhaps it's osmosis.

DJT looking pretty pale, and also has some pre-menstrual bloating.

Next time I go golfing, I'm going to hire some guys to follow me around and tell me how "beautiful!" my ball-striking is. The positive reinforcement will probably shave a few strokes off (as well as them allowing me to cheat).

Anyone been checking out Trump's new lawyer? She got her J.D. in 2011, from a law school that didn't exist until 1989. It is ranked in the lowest quartile of all law schools in the U.S.

Only the best.

‘(Trump and Putin are) Two nauseating, fearful pigs who hate what America stands for and whose every action is driven by their own weakness and insecurity, rubbing their snouts together and celebrating as innocent people lose their lives,’ (White House Deputy Press Secretary Andrew) Bates tweeted from his official government account Thursday morning.

Holy crap. I hadn't heard about Trump's comments regarding Putin and Ukraine. What a way to speak about impending war. It very clearly shows that the man has not an ounce of empathy. None. To think of Trump as still a potential nominee for the U.S. Presidency literally makes me nauseous.

Big primary results and SOTU address in one night!
Of course I'd be more excited if there weren't a pesky sports thing distracting me.
Texas will kick-start the 2022 midterm election year Tuesday with a slate of major primaries that could provide clues about the direction of both parties, among them a closely watched Democratic congressional race and several Republican battles for statewide office.

This is straight-up LOL material.

Only a handful of protesters inspired by anti-vaccine mandate trucker convoys in Canada showed up in the nation's capital Tuesday afternoon for the “Stage of Freedom” event near the Washington Monument.

Despite the initial hefty estimate that upwards of 3,000 attendees would show, only 12 rally-goers had actually assembled for the gathering
The “Stage of Freedom” flop came after right-wing media stars had spent days hyping and praising the rally.

“Listen, this is how it’s done,” Fox News host Dan Bongino said last week. “They are making it clear from the start what their goals are, they are making everything transparent, so there is no guesswork… This, ladies and gentlemen, is how it’s done!”
Maybe the fever is breaking.

Lots of juicy stuff here, but it's a short article so I bet it's just scratching the surface.

Here's just one tidbit:
“The Select Committee also has a good-faith basis for concluding that the President and members of his Campaign engaged in a criminal conspiracy to defraud the United States,” the committee wrote in a filing submitted in U.S. District Court in the Central District of California.

Other big news tonight: One of the eleven Oath Keepers has pleaded guilty to seditious conspiracy and is giving complete cooperation. First one to deal wins.

By the time this committee comes up with anything of substantial importance that has teeth, the Dems will have lost the House and the committee will be toasted.

It is getting pretty late in the shot clock. Having a cooperator is a big step forward, though. Nine months will be gone before we know it, and we might really only have six months on this.

I am all for having a thorough investigation so that Trump can't get off on a loophole, but this whole process has been ridiculous. I agree that it is unlikely that anything will get done at this point. And the case here in NY seems to have fallen apart - the lead lawyers on it resigned and they have been saying there wasn't enough of a case. It is truly amazing what he is getting away with.

The Supreme Court on Monday night denied requests from Republicans challenging congressional maps in North Carolina and Pennsylvania that had been approved by other courts, in two rulings that could benefit Democrats in the midterm elections.

This could be enough seats for Democrats to keep the house, which would be huge. I'm not totally sure, but I think that the districts in NY are going to be very gerrymandered in favor of Democrats - I have lost track of the process but that seemed to be where it was going. The rationale was "if the Republicans are going to do it, we have to fight fire with fire in states where we have control." Though part of me also wishes they would gerrymander AOC out of a seat and put in someone more moderate...

If I read about the NC and PA cases correctly, this is more of a stay of execution than a binding ruling - it sounds like this will likely last for the 2022 election then the Court will overrule it going forward. Because the conservative judges on SCOTUS only believe that judges should be deciding on law when it is beneficial to them...
