I am all for having a thorough investigation so that Trump can't get off on a loophole, but this whole process has been ridiculous. I agree that it is unlikely that anything will get done at this point. And the case here in NY seems to have fallen apart - the lead lawyers on it resigned and they have been saying there wasn't enough of a case. This could be enough seats for Democrats to keep the house, which would be huge. I'm not totally sure, but I think that the districts in NY are going to be very gerrymandered in favor of Democrats - I have lost track of the process but that seemed to be where it was going. The rationale was "if the Republicans are going to do it, we have to fight fire with fire in states where we have control."
