As it turns out, I beat Usul for this week's race. I lost to him last week by 3 points. I had previously lost a week to him by two points. This week, Usul was a mere 1 point behind. This summer has had some of the closest weeks we've seen since doing this. Ymo was third, a mere 17 points further back. Colchar was 28 points further back, followed by knights, 20 points behind, and Tilly, some 40 points behind that. I believe Tilly was away this weekend, taking care of a parent. Hopefully she'll be back near the top next week.

So, in the yearround competition, I am now 109 pts ahead of second place, which Ymo has now taken control of (by one point over knights). Usul is 256 pts further back. Tilly is 80 pts behind, with colchar 39 pts further back.

Anyone want to guess how happy I am that I left the winner on the bench?

I would have really cleaned up had I chosen my other two B list drivers. :ymsigh:

FWIW, I rode the Keselowski train much of the summer, but I think now I can pick him only 3 or 4 more times. :-ss

Jeff Gordon wins, BARELY holding off JJ who was slipping and sliding the last three laps. The BIG charger was Smoke, who moved up 5 spots in the last lap. Smoke was BY FAR, the most impressive closer. Kurt Busch raced well in 4th. Then Edwards, Kes, Harvick, Hamlin, Kenseth, Dinger, Vickers, Biff, Burton, Truex, JPM, MacMurray, MM, Menard, Jr, Newman, Ambrose, Cassill, Blech, Log, Bliss, Skinner, Mears, Starr, Lally, Reutimann, Speed,Smith, KK, Ragan , Bowyer, Labonte.

Kes has clinched a spot in the Chase.

Standings for the Chase with one race remaining: JJ, Blech, Edwards, Kenseth, JG, Harvick, Kurt, Newman, Jr, Smoke, Kes, Hamlin, Dinger, Bowyer, Biffle, Truex, KK, Logano.

By the way, Labonte spun out twice, the last one was dreadful. Bowyer then crossed in front of JPM and tagged the wall. Then Ragan blew an engine, as did KK. Shortly after, Smith crashed into the wall when MM spun him.

There were about elenty billion mist caution laps, and a red flag for rain/mist. Atlanta's weather just sucked. I think they had about 5,000 fans show up. Sort of like the fans attending a Marlins' game.

In terms of the fantasy league, KNIGHTS wins, beating me by 39 points. I finished 20 ahead of Usul, who finished a point ahead of Ymo, who was 13 pts ahead of colchar, who was 3 pts ahead of Tilly.

As for season standings, I lead knights by 71 pts, who is now 59 pts ahead of Ymo. Usul is 256 pts further back, 97 pts ahead of Tilly, who is 36 pts ahead of colchar.

On to Richmond!!

If you picked the first two in qualifying, what numbers do you have in the lottery?

1st Reutimann, 2nd JamieMac, 3rd JJ, 4th MM. :twitch:

Really.

Hamlin had loads of damage, and Jr had a little damage from the earlier issue resultibng from the Bowyer-Reutimann spin out.
Jr tagged Kenseth. Mears got hit. Truex had some damage too.

CAUTION lap 28
Kahne hit the wall, severe rear damage.
About half the cars come in to the pits.
Kurt Busch benefits greatly, as he was racing with a flat for 3 laps.
Hamlin STILL having trouble.
Oh yeah... on the earlier crash, Speed and Robby Gordon were forced out of the race.

Truex comes into the pits.
