Good morning, up at the normal time to feed the pets and couldn't get back to sleep(as I often do on weekends). Contractors were next door finishing off the soon to be neighbors house and framing another. Most of the lots in my neighborhood have been accounted for so the noise will die down soon. Duke game is on, but I'll check in on Army-Navy also.

I'm going on the Christmas House Tour this morning. Mom and I will be watching the game this afternoon.

Let's go, Duke!

OMG! We visited this one house which had its own private lake. The interior was decorated with animal prints, silver boxes, jade carvings, monograms and huge paintings by Marcus Reichert. I loved it!

I'm now making a few adjustments to my own Christmas trees and decorations. The annual Christmas tour always inspires me to a new level of creativity.

Good morning all! We are finally home after a wonderful time with grandkids in Chicago and topped off by a family wedding! I can't tell you how many miles we walked or how many lights we saw but the kiddos will tell you the tour of Soldier Field was the best! They are Bears fans through and through! Happy Monday All! :happy-bouncyblue: :happy-bouncyblue:

Good morning!

I can nixed from a Jury Pool for making one of attorneys look like an idiot once. One of the standard questions is if you have ever served on a jury, with the follow up 'did you reach a verdict'.

I am sure all of our Attorney's in residence will see the error of her ways:

Legal Eagle: Have you ever served on a jury?
Windsor: Yes, I served one year on a federal Grand Jury
Legal Eagle: and did you reach a verdict
Windsor: It was a GRAND jury
Legal Eagle: Yes, but in that YEAR did you not reach a verdict...
Windsor: Do you understand what a GRAND JURY actually does?

(at this point the other attorney and the judge were laughing. I was not asked to serve)

Very few attorneys are familiar with the grand jury process since only prosecutors are allowed in the grand jury room. I can recall only one lecture in law school about the grand jury process, and that was more than half my life ago. (But I do know that grand juries don't reach verdicts.) Lawgrad likely appears before the grand jury several times a year.

One time I heard a prosecutor say, "Notre Bill was returned."

I thought, "Notre Bill? Is that like Notre Dame's little brother?"

Then I realized that she was saying "no TRUE bill."

=)) =)) =))
