What are smashed potatoes? Are they mashed potatoes prepared when you are particularily peeved?
(Crapola, coulda used a Hulk icon there, but there ain't one.)
I first had smashed potatoes in New Orleans years ago. They were a mashed potato dish with chucks of potato throughout and usually had some cream or sour cream added along with some garlic.

The potatoes are baked, halved and then scooped out of the skins, mashed coarsely and mixed with cream and cheese, then scooped back into the skins, topped with more cheese, and then baked some more. AKA twice-baked potatoes. They're fucking phenomenal.
I have always referred to your description as twice-baked or stuffed potatoes. When I mention smashed potatoes, I am referring to mashing the the whole potato (carving out the "eyes" or "ruts" [southern for "roots" :)) =)) ]) and then adding cheese and/or bacon pieces to the final presentation.
Damn, where are my potatoes!!!! Time for some more shoveling exercise to get them ruts out!!!!! and adding some ranch dress'n!!!! I'm sure the presentation will bEEEE (that's a LONG E, BTW ;) ) :)) :)) :)) :))

Breakfast: nothing. Had dr's appointment for routine blood work (fasting)
Lunch: tried KFC's grilled chicken breast. Will not be buying that again. Too greasy, very little grilling.
Supper: Girls in my high school class get together twice a year for dinner...Girls' Night Out at Billy Bob's Diner. Don't know what I'll order, but I'm hungry!
