9 laps to go...
Looks like about 10 cars are going to run out of fuel on the last lap!!

About 2/3 come in for a splash and go.
Mears almost hits Biffle in the pits.
Bowyer, Kenseth, Harvick, and Bayne lead the race, and they do NOT come in.
Smoke, Smith, Waltrip, Almi, TLab, Ragan also stayed out, and complete the top ten.
JG leads the ones who came into the pits.

Looks like a Green-White-Checker finish.

THE BIG ONE on the last turn
Kenseth crosses the line first, and NASCAR rules he wins.
About 24 cars got hit!!
Smoke and JJ got it bad, but Smoke got out okay, so is BLab.
Jr got hit as well...Jr is driving JJ across the finish line... JJ was riding on Jr's door.

It's going to take a while to sort this out.

Looks like Smoke was in the lead, but was stranded. He dropped down to the inside, and impeded Waltrip, who was making a monster move, being pushed by Mears. Waltrip got loose, then piled to the right up to the outside, crossing in front of about five cars, including Jr. Meanwhile, Smoke was going around on his side, and Bowyer/Kahne took turns crashing him and pushing him.
Here's only a partial list of drivers I saw in the mess: Waltrip, Smoke, KK, Bowyer, Jr, JJ, BLabonte, Bayne, etc...
Kes and Hamlin escaped unscathed.

Order of finish (tentative):
Kenseth, JGo, Blech, Ragan, Biff Smith, Kes, Kvapil, Newman, Burton
Hamlin, Truex, KK, Harvick, Gilliland, TLabonte, JJ, Bab, Bayne, Almirola
Jr, Smoke, Bowyer, Hornish, Waltrip, Mears, Ambrose, Menard, Blaney, Cassill

colchar extends his lead.

NASCAR is still checking/reviewing things.

Seems that Dale Jr. is pretty pissed about that messy ending yesterday:

He wasn't the only one. Smoke set off the whole chain of events by getting in the way of the freight train that was Michael Waltrip. It seriously looked like Waltrip would win.

I'm afraid I agree with about 95% of what Jr said. I half made that comment about NO BIG ONE knowing that the Big One would happen. I think Jr's right... it doesn't really feel like racing.

Fuck me, I forgot this week's race was a Saturday race and didn't make my picks so I am stuck with the same drivers as last week - and two of them aren't entered so I only have six valid picks out of a possible eight picks.

He had lingering effects from Dega... so soon after his first concussion a few weeks ago.

Turns out that everyone, except knights, selected Junior this week. On the race notes, the yahoo folks report that 48% of people in the fantasy games selected Junior.

FWIW, both Miles and colchar was had two drivers not entered for this week.

Biffle won the pole, with MM, Newman, and Bowyer filling out the first two rows.

The "experts" on Yahoo all had Junior on their roster as well.

Yeah, as mentioned above, I didn't so much select Jr. this week as I just forgot to make my picks in time so was stuck with the same drivers for two weeks in a row. #-o

One of the guys in my other fantasy league had three drivers not entered!

Hmm... so here's the rundown of last night's race.

Bowyer won. He had just enough gas to win ahead of Denny Hamlin. JJ was a serious threat all night long, but just couldn't win it.

Biff raced well enough, as did Blech, Truex, Kahne, and Logano.

Kes led the most laps, but literally ran out of gas in the pits with like 55 laps to go. It cost him about 13 spots, but he was able to charge up to 11th.

Regan Smith didn't last long driving the 88 for Jr. Dinger was okay, as was KuBusch.

Kenseth brought out the yellow in lap 11, but managed to get the Lucky Dog with 100 laps to go.. Not a great performance. JG had a green flag pit penalty that essentially took him out of the race.

In Fantasy League, Ymo won this week :ymapplause: :ymapplause: , and is now inching even closer to me in second place :-ss :-ss . Although I did well yesterday, Ymo is but SIX points behind me. We both trail colchar by eleventy million points. Lawgrad is about 130 pts behind Ymo, and Tilly is another 150 or so points behind that. MILES (40 pts behind Tilly) has now moved ahead of Iowa by 44 points. Knights is further back.

On to Kansas!!
