I raise my glass in the general direction of Kansas and toast to your Dad! May good memories of him fill your heart on this, his birthday.DukieInKansas wrote:In honor of what would have been my Dad's 85th birthday, for those so inclined, please have a gin martini this evening. He was a wonderful gentleman.
You just gotta adjust that attitude, comrade. The weekend is but a puppy.YmoBeThere wrote:Yay for Friday, but I'm dreading Monday.
DinK: Don't have the stuff for a gin martini, but I'm sending major vibes and hugs your way. Cheers to your dad!DukieInKansas wrote:In honor of what would have been my Dad's 85th birthday, for those so inclined, please have a gin martini this evening. He was a wonderful gentleman.

I'm fresh out of gin. I hope a slug of bourbon will suffice.DukieInKansas wrote:Thanks for all the cheers, hugs, and good wished on Dad's birthday. They helped me through the day. I must confess that I'm really not a gin person, so my boss, her husband, and I went out for margaritas this afternoon.
I have been visited by a goldfinch, a sign from my mother, this evening. It sat on the shepherd's crook holding the bird feeder about 5 feet from me. It has been a good day of memories.
If I find a snake, I'm inviting your First Mate to visit. Or my brother - who sent me a picture of an 11 ft rattler the other day.captmojo wrote:I'm fresh out of gin. Birds are nice to have around, but, BEWARE OF SNAKES!
