Harumph!
What a bust of a forecast - no snow to speak of overnight.DukieInKansas wrote:Cold again today. Snow is predicted - another 3 to 5 inches. I'm glad my commute to work is very short.
We got maybe an inch of snow yesterday. I'm bummed.DukieInKansas wrote:What a bust of a forecast - no snow to speak of overnight.DukieInKansas wrote:Cold again today. Snow is predicted - another 3 to 5 inches. I'm glad my commute to work is very short.
I blame it on Verne.captmojo wrote:Yesterday, it got to 68 degrees here with Sunshine.
Today, it will struggle to make it to 40.
I blame St. John's.
Man, I am jealous..we are supposed to get another 15-20 inches of snow on Tuesday/Wednesday...I am running out of places to put the snow from our driveway...CameronBornAndBred wrote:Today is cold, dreary, and windy. It's supposed to be almost 70 on Wednesday!![]()

I can assure you that the storm has arrived in St. Louis. We're getting freezing rain right now and have been since around noon. Roads aren't horrible right now, but there's ice on trees, cars, etc. It's supposed to keep this up until tomorrow, at which time it will transition to snow. Local TV station just said 5-10 inches of snow and up to 1 inch of ice. Areas just north of us are under a blizzard warning and could receive up to 20 inches of snow.Devil in the Blue Dress wrote:The past few days have indeed been encouraging. There was abundant sunshine most of the time. Temperatures warmed to seasonal levels or a bit higher. Today is like a new dose of reality with the high to be in the mid-thirties.... we're within a degree of the high at 10A, same temperature has been the reading since at least 8A this morning. The possibility of some sort of frozen precipitation seems to have an eerie coordination with home games at Duke.
There is a major storm expected in the Saint Louis area perhaps tomorrow, possibly bringing lots of ice followed by snow. I hope that by the time this storm reaches North Carolina that our mountains will tame it and prevent us from dealing with yet another nasty winter weather event.
