Re: NASCAR 2009
I now have a full season 305 pt lead over second place Ymo. Colchar won this week, beating me by 3 pts.YmoBeThere wrote:I'm not even going to look...
For 2nd place, Ymo leads Penguins and Devils by 52 pts. Tilly is 250 pts further behind, but is doing very well in the fall rankings.
Next week is the Ford/Homestead race. The final race of the season. JJ needs 25th or better to beat MM for the overall title, assuming MM wins the poll and leads the maximum number of laps.

Re: NASCAR 2009
I just checked the full year standings and I am in 5th place (138 points out of 4th place). Although I kind of wish I had done better, I am not all that upset with my performance especially considering the fact that I only really started watching NASCAR a couple of years ago and couldn't watch many races last year because I was in Britain from May until the end of August.
Looking forward to next year - providing I am in the country (right now I'm trying to arrange to be in Britain again).

You should still participate while in Britain. After all, I participated all the way from Madagascar this year.colchar wrote:I just checked the full year standings and I am in 5th place (138 points out of 4th place). A valid point. A very valid point.
If I am in Britain I will try to participate but would have to figure out internet access first. Then again, I could always pick drivers in advance.

I think Lavabe was born close to MM!!! I knew I liked you fur a reason, besides that RED hair of yours!!!!!bjornolf wrote:...I want to see MM win it all! Ahem, MM is awesome! It is the car bebe!!!! Old Guy = Wilson/YMO! (well maybe Oz's twin!) MM has 9 lives!bjornolf wrote:Bobby Allison was 45 when he won a championship, so Mark Martin would also make history if he won one at 50. ;) Plus, he's never won one. I always like to pull for the old guy AND the underdog, and MM encompasses both. Besides, with his team and his cars, JJ could win four in a row ANOTHER time. I wouldn't count him out. How many more chances will Mark have?TillyGalore wrote:I'm rooting for JJ as he would make history by winning 4 in a row.bjornolf wrote:It'd be pretty cool to see JJ win four in a row, but he's young and will have shots at more, I'm sure. Re: NASCAR 2009
It ain't lucky when you lead 230+ laps of a 312 lap race.
The big difference between JJ & Blech: when JJ leads 70% of a race, he wins.
Yes... the more I think of it, the more we need Bones in this league (actually picking drivers each week). ;)

Re: NASCAR 2009
Hamlin wins the Ford 400. Jeff Burton took 2nd. Harvick 3rd. KuBusch 4th.
JJ finishes 5th, and takes the title.
Gordon 6th, Edwards 7th, Blech 8th, Trues 9th, Dinger 10th.
It looks like I tied Penguins and Devils for the win this week. I went with Edwards (7th), JamieMac (18th), Martin Truex Jr (9th), and Dinger (10th). P&D went with MM(12th), Kurt Busch(4th), Reutimann(15th), and Kes(25th).
JPM and Smoke got into some nasty hits and paybacks in the race. JPM got black-flagged for nailing Smoke 2/3's into the race. Expect some penalties.
Order of finish for the league:
Lavabe 10,042 pts (98th percentile in the whole competition)
Ymo 9,692 pts
P&D 9,685 pts
Tilly 9,354 pts
colchar 9,278 pts
knights 8,723 pts
BidingTime 8,592 pts
Miles 7,644 pts
Bones 0 pts

Re: NASCAR 2009
Thanks to y'all in the NASCAR Fantasy League! It was a lot of fun. I have really learned a lot from Tilly (last year's champ), Ymo (the founder of it all), colchar, Miles, Knights, the non-CTN regulars, and even Bones (word to self, do NOT pick MM 9 times in a row). Two quick questions:
1) Tilly: Now that I won the season championship, what is the official terminology to place in my signature?
2) Must get more folks into this league next year.
Cheers,
Lavabe
