I know I didn't get to enjoy Duke, reunions, spring game or Brunchgate, but on Sat., I did get to go diving on a sunny day - spent 88 minutes underwater at a depth of 60-90 feet; and got my hair cut & styled. Today, I cleaned the house this morning (and got Mr. DA to clean and vacuum as well!) and then hosted a BBQ with a few dive buddy couples this evening. Pork ribs, bratwursts w/ onions & peppers, grilled zucchini, fruit salad, brownies & ice cream. Oh, and margaritas, good beer, and rum & cokes.

Did I mention the weather was lovely? 70 & sunny. Yay for spring!
Sounds great.

Which beers? :D

Hey everyone. Back to work today after a crazy weekend. Had two reunion friends' families staying with us with three kids between them. Four kids under three yrs in the house this weekend. Had 15-20 people over Saturday night for Allen and Son BBQ and beers. Had everyone over again the next morning for mimosas and quiche. Dropped my friend and her two kids off at the airport this morning.

And now I'm feeling sick. I need a nap.

You just noticed? Did my avatar pic escape you? ;)

And yes, dry suit is a must. Weather was warmer, but water was still a brisk 46 degrees.

In the past 24 hours I have slaughtered at least 50 earwigs. I had seen more than usual for this time of the year, and thought nothing of it until last night when they were crawling under a crack in my screen door. I'd say there was a new earwig every 10 minutes. One fell on me while I was napping on the sofa. Yeah, it fell, from the ceiling and landed on my arm. Even though I hate bugs, I usually don't kill them, but I finally lost it and went Rambo.

Should I feel guilty?

For some reason we're finding a bunch of spiders in our house this year. Not big ugly ones, but still...

In my opinion, spiders are far worse and I usually let them go unless I see one in the bedroom before I go to sleep. If a spider had jumped on me in my sleep though, then I would've gone Commando on his ass too.

Dude, I had to get out the freaking vacuum cleaner and suck these little bastards up because there were so many of them. Good news though, I did some research and found out that this is a common hatching period in San Diego so the population increase is temporary. I've also learned how to make two different traps. I'm telling you, it's like Predator; I set traps, I wait in the shadows ready to attack. No bug is safe in my home.

Insects and arachnids need to eat too...

it is an absolutely perfect morning out here today. Cloudless sky, just a tinge of spring chill in the air but forecast to get up to the low 70's. Ahhh, finally.

Of course, I suspect you folks back in NC have been mornings like this since February, but I'll take 'em when I can get 'em.

Too bad I have to go to work. I sense a half-day coming on....

Actually, we haven't. :( It's been unusually cold here with pockets of "typical NC" days, like Saturday. In fact, Seattle may be warmer than Durham today. Go figure!

I am so ready for consistent good weather. Am tired of wearing pantyhose and want to wear my cute spring clothes. Damn it!!!!

I support insect rights, even arachnids. I try not to kill anything, but they were invading!

Survival of the fittest - insects must die!

I'll usually try to leave bugs alone or put them outside. However, if a bug is dumb enough to be seen in our house/car/property of any type by my wife, it deserves what's about to happen to it. I always tell them it's nothing personal as I'm crushin' and flushin' 'em, kind of like a mafia hit. I tell them I'm sorry, but that I'm more afraid of my wife than I am of them, so they have to die by crushing and drowning. =:) b-(
