Just because they make sundresses, miniskirts, shorts and tank tops in size 12 and larger doesn't mean that it's a good idea for women to buy them and wear them.
Only small, buff women can get away with wearing sundresses, miniskirts, shorts and tank tops. All others should cover up their exposed flab.
I wear a 12. It is Florida...it is only April and it is pushing 90 - I'm wearing shorts and tank tops from now until September. Maybe the occassional sundress. You don't like...look away.
I'm not there to see it.
You can wear shorts and tank tops to work? I would freeze to death if I didn't wear layers to work in the summer.

BTW, I include myself in this group of women who should not expose the rest of the world to their arm flab, cottage cheese thighs and overall less than hot physiques. I don't want to scare anyone.

Memo to the girlie man at the gym.
1. What part of "this section is for circuit training only" do you not understand? The stations are numbered 1-20. Either do the stations in order, or go use the weight machines on the other side of the gym.
2. I am doing the machines and steps in the order in which they are numbered. If I am finishing up on the number 5 step, for the love of God, do not start on the number 6 weight machine and then look surprised when I ask you politely to move.
3. Clean the machines after you get off of them, especially since you seem to think you should always be one machine ahead of me. I do not want to feel your sweat. That's just nasty.
4. Referring to #1: is the reason you are doing the weight machines in the circuit area is because you are embarrassed for people to see just how small the weights you pull are? That cannot be more embarrassing that having the 40-something, out-of-shape woman who's having to wait for you, INCREASE the weight resistance on EVERY station after you finish and before she starts. I am almost embarrassed for you.
5. If you like, I will ask EJ for the stilettos and panty hose he isn't wearing anymore (since it's no longer listed as being in his closet). I'm sure they will be fit you just fine.
Thank you for your cooperation in this matter. Please return to your 25 pound sets. Somewhere else.
Iron Duke #1471997.

Reading comprehension, my friend. I never said CathyCA was the resident curmudgeon, just that she operated in the proud tradition of the curmudgeonly Muppets Statler and Waldorf, which she most certainly does.

I am NOT a curmudgeon!
I am a snark! And I'm good at it, too! I even have my name in the title of the snark thread!

As detailed in the LTE, I went to baby shower yesterday. 24 people RSVP'ed as "YES". 11 (yes 11) NO SHOWED. No call, no explanation just didn't f-ing show up. The hostess put substantial effort and expense into individual favor bags...she had twice as many as she needed (because she had made a few extra just in case).
When someone goes through the time/energy/expense to invite you to something and you say your coming..you better get your happy ass there come hell or high water. In the event that an emergency presents itself notify the hostess as soon as human possible.
If invited, please not only show up, but do so at the appointed time. You are not the most important person on the planet...the rest of us don't want to wait for you. Grand entrances are for A list celebrities, which odds are you aren't.

If a celebrity has to have a late, grand entrance at a f*$#kin' baby shower...their celebrity status, in my eyes, has just fallen through the basement floor.
"Backboards? Backboards? I'll show'em what to do with a f%#kin' backboard!"

Trashy, just trashy.
I'm assuming they didn't send their gifts ahead of time.

Is there any theological significance to dragging one's Christmas tree out on the curb on Easter Day?
I didn't think so.
My next door neighbors finally got rid of their Christmas tree this morning. Perhaps they thought the Easter Bunny would hop away with it? By the time the city crews haul that tree away, Christmas will be four months in the past, one third of the year ago. . .

The did not. Major props to the hostess (who held up the festivities in the vain hope some were just running late) she was obviously torqued, but put on the happy face and carried with a smile. Not one snark crossed her lips (at least not in front of the guests). Many of them no shows worked with the Mom to be and hostess...imagine something will be said on Monday!
It happens all the time..and I am at a loss to understand how you can say 'yes I'm coming' and then just not show up. I have a friend who is a wedding planner...she did a wedding recently and the bride/groom paid for 18 dinners no one showed up to eat. Yeah, the weather was crappy - but this is Florida, we're talking rain not a freakin blizzard. Get an umbrella and get there.

This is a photo of Camilla leaving the hair salon AFTER getting her hair done, bless her heart.
Someone needs to tell the Duchess that her shoes should coordinate with her dress, however frumpy it is, and her bag, however informal it is. Blue dress, brown shoes, black and straw bag. Tsk tsk tsk. . . (I'm not even going to comment on that thing she has draped around her neck.) I could soooooooooooooo do a better job of being the Duchess. For that matter, fifteen percent of the women in America could do a better job of being the Duchess.
I do LOVE the bracelet! It's classy!

If you were the Duchess of Cornwall, people would write snarky comments about you too.
