Thuhhhhhhhhhhhhh... Yankees win!
Glad for you. We longsuffering Baltimore fans are used to losing, and wouldn't we HATE to have Yankees fans jumping off bridges and ledges if they had a two-game losing streak to the O's.

:-? Well, some Yankees fans, anyway.
I am a long-suffering Orioles fan.

What really is the deal with Angelos? Has he just figured out a way for the team to give him a little profit while still sucking? Has he no shame? His name in Baltimore is "Mud." He's getting older. Does he not care about his legacy? God I wish the O's would be relevant again.

Camden yards, here we come! :-BD Then we can hop over to see the Nats win! Both are awesome stadiums, but I would rather hang at the inner harbor! :-BD ;)

Well, the Orioles made Ozzie happy again tonight. Ozzie, you're welcome. You owe us; EJ, Tilly, me, any other O's fans on the board. Please do not pay us in Bud Light.

"It's a fever pitch here at Veterns' Stadium! The wind up, and here's the pitch. A line drive, CAUGHT by Cal Ripken Jr. and that will do it! The Orioles stand atop the baseball world! O! Look at them celebrate! Murray and Ripken in an embrace! Boddicker and Martinez are dancing around the mound! Even the ever-humble Singleton has his arms raised in triumph! And look at Dempsey go! Oh what a series he had! Listen up Pratt Street patrons! Joe Altobelli and his birds of Baltimore have given the city a world championship! Dance Wild Bill! Dance John Denver! Dance ye all in Baltimore! WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS!"

Sigh. I long for that again.

I remember that so well. I was so happy. Wonder if we'll see the Orioles on top again. Sure isn't looking like it.

I don't follow baseball, so I don't follow the Orioles, but y'all talking about them makes me miss Bill.

I'm sure everyone of those cups had a Budweiser in them..he and Ozzie would have gotten along well, Bud was the only beer he drank.

Does changing the amount make it ok? i.e. - Forty lashes with a wet noodle

Thought I'd help you get a few more posts out of it.

I heard that term when growing up in New Jersey...

A simple googling of the term reveals that one can find references to 50, 40, 30, and 3 lashes with a wet noodle.

That expression has been used in the southeast as well..... always in units of 10.

I've never heard that phrase before.

Do we have a thread for the coolest or kookiest phrases/cliches that one enjoys?

This isn't a beef about terms or cliches, but I get so annoyed when people misspell words. Additionally, my skin crawls when people misuse apostrophes.

I read this on FB this morning:

"There were some sound and feedback issues, but they never let it phase them at all! They kept going and were GREAT!"

Does anyone know what is wrong with the first sentence?

Additionally:

"This kid is such a trooper. I am amazed at all he has had to go through and yet he has such a good attitude."

Does anyone know what is wrong with the first sentence?
