"Flash Boys" by Michael Lewis. Very, very interesting read about how technology has made the American stock market — in a word — rigged.

I just started a new one: For Crew and Country by John Wukovits. It is the story of the USS Samuel B. Roberts during the Battle of Leyte Gulf. Specifically, October 25, 1944 or day three of the epic sea battle which is also known as the Battle off Samar (the Philippine Island where my wife was born and raised) when Taffy 3 commanded by Rear Admiral Clifton Sprague stood toe to toe against the Japanese Center Force commanded by Vice Admiral Kurita and comprised of four Battleships and eight cruisers. This is the United States Navy version of the Alamo or the Charge of the Light Brigade. Destroyers and Destroyer Escorts facing down Battleships and Cruisers.

Spoiler Alert: Kurita turned tail and ran.

For anyone interested in WWII U.S. Navy history, The Battle of Leyte Gulf is a great place to start. While Pearl Harbor, Guadalcanal and Midway are much more well known stories, Leyte Gulf is the greatest sea battle in history.

Day 1: The Battle of Sibuyan Sea
Day 2: The Battle of Surigao Strait
Day 3: The Battle off Samar

Many disagree with Mr. Lewis' conclusion. I haven't read it yet, so can't voice an informed opinion yet.

I haven't finished it yet, so I can't comment on all of Lewis's conclusions. Though the science behind it is very much sound and there is plenty of evidence given that this is going on.
