To Lesley Visser:
Gurrrrrrrrrrrrrrlllllllllllll, you need a serious makeover.
I appreciate that you are wearing a Duke blue suit today. Really, I do. It's very flattering.
Your hair, however, is a complete mess. Blonde is not your color at all. You are a natural brunette. Take a look at your eyebrows. If you're going to go blonde, you must lighten the eyebrows. Anyway, if you want any blonde, you should consider blonde highlights, along with lowlights to give your hair some "depth." But you should stay with brown as your base color.
And where is your hair brush? Did you leave it in New York? Seriously, a good brushing before you hit your mark would have tamed some of those flyaways.
Now, back to the eyebrows. You need to get them shaped. Could you not find a nail salon in Indy? Nail salons usually have a girl who can wax your eyebrows. The eyebrow pencil you used today is too dark. It would go with your brunette hair, but it doesn't go with the blonde. You also used too much eyebrow pencil. It's like you tried to hold down your unruly brow hairs with the wax in the pencil. A set of tweezers, a brow brush and some little fingernail scissors would help to solve the problem of unruly brows. So would the aforementioned eyebrow waxing. One more thing about the brows: you penciled in too close to the bridge of your nose. You could have achieved a softer look if you'd begun drawing the brow a little further out.
Finally, wear some brighter lipstick. You look washed out, and a brighter lipstick would help bring some color to your face. So would a darker hair color.
Just because the male sportscasters don't pay much attention to their hair and makeup doesn't give you license to do the same.
Finally, I hope you're wearing stockings. They would provide the proper finishing touch to that fabulous Duke Blue suit.

Fascinating fashion lesson.

Haha! I was so nervous waiting for the game, and since I'd seen Lesley Visser earlier in the day as a brunette at the '92 Duke-KY game, I thought I'd pass the time by giving her a few fashion tips. All for free! ;)

I would like to be happier so I'm asking for help. Does anyone have a link to the cutting down of the nets last night? CBS didn't show the nets coming down in Houston and I didn't see it last night either, although there was a nice shot of the ladder set up under the nets. (Who knew Werner was the official ladder of the tournament?) Seeing these things happen, even if it isn't live, would make me happier.

Our neightbors are a house divided - she is Duke and he is that other shade of blue (although to be fair, he is the most level-headed, nice, reasonable one of those fans I've ever met - EVER. He and I have had many good conversations about the game and he is just as knowledgeable about Duke players' stats and abilities as he is about his own team - he just loves the game.). The due date for her second son was April 14. Contractions began last night around 9:00. They went to the hospital AFTER "One Shining Moment" was finished. Gotta love a woman with priorities.
The baby arrived this morning and this afternoon I dropped off a new Duke onsie and Duke pacifiers along with a 2010 championship t-shirt for big brother (2 1/2) who put it on immediately.

Some of the last words Katie said to me, amid my euphoric Duke friends on honestly one of the very best days of my life:
"I don't think I'll ever watch the tar heels again. This is great."
