Let's just say that "Verne" will not be the name of any child of ours. ;)

I spent the wee hours of this morning reminicing the play of our young Mr. Irving. I chose to re-watch the Oregon game.
Marques Johnson, from the Pac-10 network, did a masterful job as TV color man. I highly recommend his work.

Not sure where to post this, but here seems like the place.
We are watching Kentucky-Florida. One of the UF kids got hit in the face and lost a contact lens. Dick Vitale begins to pontificate about his troubles with putting in contactS. He says this several times, including something like "you should see how much trouble I have putting those babies in, in the morning."
Doesn't he only have one functioning eye? Why would he wear two lenses or be putting in two lenses if he can't see out of one eye, or if he has a glass eye? Am I the only one who thinks this is weird?

Even with my 1.5 eyes, I think it would be strange that he would wear two contacts. Maybe he's put's it in for weight balance.

I could never stand Woody Durham. He was a sports caster on WGHP out of Greensboro High point. He is I guess the Voice of the Tarholes. All the communication majors, at one time, all graduated from UNC chapel hill. That has since changed!!

Woody, harumph!
The former WFMY septaugenarian made me lose any and all interest in unc back when I was but a wee child. I had to hear from him, EVERY FUCKIN' NIGHT, on the local news/sports report, how great the holes always were, endless highlight clips from games and practice, and his expected opinions of their greatness and potential. All the while, Duke was on their way to the NCAAs, after he had the displeasure of informing his audience that the Blue Devils had won the ACC tournament. I never have been able to stand him.
