I have two trials this afternoon. I wish they were this morning. I'll spend the entire day over-thinking them.

I have a murder trial on Monday, and am taking the file home today at lunchtime so I'm not interrupted with a bunch of office nonsense and paperwork. If I'm going to be interrupted, I'd rather it be by Merlin and Sasha.

The Defendant made a motion to dismiss on the grounds that he was mentally ill. I had to respond to it. I told the judge that he didn't allege that he was mentally ill at the time he entered into the contracts he had signed.

The Defendant also told me that even if the court entered a judgment against him, he wasn't going to pay it because the bank had insurance on the loan in the event he defaulted.

We had a trial. The judge took the matter under advisement. He told us that he would have the prevailing party draft the Order next week. I'm making a fairly educated guess here on who won the trial since the only party who has anyone who knows how to draft orders is my client.

I keep reminding myself that I'm doing exactly what I set out to do when I went to law school. I really do love my job.

In the past 48 hours between two of the ID grandkids they have completed their first tennis tournament, won a baseball tournament, and from the conference swim meet came home with blue ribbons in the 50-fly & Medley Relay plus 2nd place in 100-Free and 200-free relay! Proud of them for sure but I am one sunburned and worn out Grandma! Yikes I hope they take a break in sports now before football and cross country start! Good morning to all and I'm kicking back today!
