For a further bit of delicious irony for your Monday morning, I give you Pete Nance. He transferred to sheep u from Northwestern so he could play in the NCAA tournament in his last year of eligibility.
Northwestern is in, he is out.
Northwestern is in, he is out.

Hmmm. He leaves Northwestern; they make the tourney. He comes to unc, and they DON’T make the tourney. That means it’s all Pete Nance’s fault!

Brutal stuff:
UNC not in NCAA Tournament: Tom Penders rips declining NIT invitation (usatoday.com)
" An invitation to the NIT wasn’t good enough for the University of North Carolina men’s basketball team, and one former NCAA coach believes the Tar Heels should be held accountable.
College Basketball Hall of Famer Tom Penders said UNC should be fined for declining an invitation to the NIT and urged the NCAA basketball committee to “remember this slap in the face,” according to a tweet posted to Penders’ Twitter account Sunday night."}
Heaping burning coals upon their lying, cheating asses.
Couldn’t have happened to a more deserving collection of dimwits.

From Pat Welter.
I disagree. I was often very joyful when Carolina played.
https://www.wralsportsfan.com/welter-by ... /20762402/The question we are all still asking is why didn't this work? I remember after their loss to Kansas in the national championship saying on air that all of the starters except Brady Manek could come back. After I said it I kind of regretted it because I thought I might be mocked, no way they'd actually do it, but then one by one they did. It was a perfect storm of low NBA draft stock, eligibility, NIL and unfinished business. The Tar Heels were preseason number one because their close game experience should have been an edge in a sport with so little continuity. Instead that experience turned into a weakness. There was no joy to Carolina's games this season, playing looked like a job or a chore, especially when contrasted with the enthusiasm and togetherness we saw locally in NC State and Duke.
