Forecast is for 96 or 97 in Raleigh today with a heat index of 110. Now that you have the experience in physical exertion in the heat, perhaps you could come up and mow my lawn this afternoon. :flame: :)) =))
Sure. I accept payments of one beer per 10 square yards.
But my yard is not square. It is pie-shaped /:) .

But I'll still have a couple cold ones waitin' fer ya ;) :D .

I'm sure somebody here can do the geometry. I could, but I need more coffee first.

Why didn't the weathermen/women in the Southeast and East coast just take this summer off?

They could have all just gotten on the TV on June 1st, or May 15 for that matter, and said.

"And now your forecast for each day for the next three months: Partly Cloudy, hazy and hot, with temps in the mid-upper 90s and a heat index around 112. Slight chance of showers."

The sticker in the back windshield of my car is now melted.

Being a weatherman has rarely had anything to do with the weather.

Sasha would be shakin' here, as well. The sky is doing a fine lot of shakin'. Jerry Lee Lewis might still be able to do a whole lotta shakin' if he were around here tonight.
Rain is keeping me from grass mowing. We have no cars on the yard, so tomorrow off. I need to take avantage of the time. We've had enough rain for a time...and heat. How's about some cool and dry? :twitch:

FYI, Capt, I don't live far from the car lot you go to in Walkertown.

Merlin, the intrepid hound, is NOT afraid of the storm. He's just close to Mommy to make sure SHE isn't afraid. Not quite sure how sitting on Mommy's foot is making sure she isn't afraid, but Merlin is nothing if not logical, so I assume he has some valid reason.

The satellite is out. X(

Merlin the Intrepid Hound and Sasha the Mini-Schnauzer are now huddled up on the couch. Merlin's front feet are turned in to meet each other, as if he were

He has taken over my spot on the couch, so he'd better

Just a note about those storms last night..... several smaller storms joined together to produce a much bigger storm as the weather activity moved east, lots of lightening strikes, high winds reported in some places along with weather alerts for severe thunderstorms, flash flooding accompanied by power outages, especially in Guilford County (about 3K at one point). Northwest of WS, the power flicked off and on several times, but came back on. A very restless night.

Our illustrious news folk reported that an average of 1000 lightning strikes per hour were going down last night.
My rain gauge reflected that here in western Rockingham, we were treated, or imposed as may be one's point of view, to a wonderful 4.5 inches o'water.

...and yet the town water folks are choosing this day to make a big mountain of mud in my front yard. I'm fuckin' thrilled! :ymparty:

It's 87 freakin' degrees at 11PM tonight with a dew point of 75 and a heat index of 97 or 98. Why do I feel like I'm still in Georgia? X(

My friend had to help her friend with a flat tire this morning. It was 98 (that's air temp only) at 10:30 in the morning at Wal-Mart in Starkville. 10:30.
