Joannie Rochette skating in exhibition to Celine Dion.
I don't like Celine Dion in English. Now I know I don't like her singing in French.
Joannie gets the Terry Fox Award for showing detrmination, courage, and humility.

Exhibition skating is putting me to sleep. It's no fun without the pressure of competition.

Pluschenko skating ... still whining, but now he's skating to some sick French song called "I am Sick." How appropriate!CameronBornAndBred wrote:Exhibition skating is putting me to sleep. It's no fun without the pressure of competition.

That would be Meryl Davis and Charlie White, the US Champs and Olympic Silver Medalists in ice dancing. And, I must agree, that rendition of "Billie Jean" is pretty awful.CameronBornAndBred wrote:I dunno. Somebody in sequins.Lavabe wrote:Did not see Billie Jean. Too bad, right? Meryl and Charlie are great, and of all the songs they could've skated to, they chose that. Their skating was stellar, as usual, but the music was icky.Lavabe wrote:OMG... The difference is that in events like speed skating the judge/referee might influence the outcome whereas in events like figure skating they definitely determine they outcome.

That was a bizarre exhibition. Even though Davis/White had an awful music selection, I liked their exhibition better.Lavabe wrote:Virtue and Moir: Oy. Is that 1989's C&C Music Factory?
