Yeah, me too.
G'night to you too, Sue, since I suspect(/hope) you'll be here soon.
Here where? :-??

I don't know the date of the Battle of Hastings, but I thought it was sometime in October too?
Yep, October 14 also known as BD's birthday.
Great date for a birthday!

Mary Chapin Carpenter is favorite in the Turk household too. Glommed onto her back in the DC days; I hope the Birchmere is still there at the corner of Glebe and Glebe... Also "Twist And Shout" refers to an American Legion bar in Bethesda that brought in Cajun bands on weekends. She does nice work. Only complaint is that Mrs. Turk, ever the cold-hearted realist, has no interest in the two-lanes like 15-501 or 751 on the way to the beach. "Get on the interstate and put the pedal to the metal, you silly fool. We got young Turks in the backseat and no time for such nonsense; we're on a schedule dammit..."

Reminds me of a book called Blue Highways by William Least Heat Moon that I read a long time ago. I wonder if it still holds up...

DiK, you're too kind. Jon Stewart was on fire tonight about those two journalists that Big Willie sprung; reminds me of our Korean meme "over yonder"... Now it's Colbert's turn...

Tripped over Bill Cosby "Himself" from 1983 on cable. He's describing the process of bathing children that makes me think he's been inside the Turk household... And that's post #50 so enough for now...

I've only used mine twice, and I don't quite have the, um, high-risk environment in my house that you do, so I haven't done anything yet.
My brother and uncle have had good luck with those custom stick-on film thingies for their Blackberry & iPhone, respectively, so I'm thinking there's gotta be a similar product for my camera (or a way to just make my own with some scissors).

Yea, there is. If you come to that baseball outing, I'll give you one of mine. I'm getting one of the hard plastic ones. Even adults can fumble and drop a camera when kids are nowhere around (that's how my last one died).

If you watch 'Lost' there are a couple of wicked awesome threads going on. Right Ozzie? ;)
Absolutely!

And to waste a couple of PWing opportunities, as I'm catching up on 4 pages of posts this morning and don't have a lot of time to go back and forth within the thread:
I have fallen from #8 to #9 over there. Either Shamrog, Throatybeard or Jumbo has past me - I can't remember which one I was ahead of.
I've never hated the Red Sox, and do capitalize the team name when I write it. It is only unc and carolina that I dis with lower case letters B-) I have many good friends who are Sox fans, one is even a Kentucky fan too. Our mutual hatred of carolina keeps us going strong! =))

That's not how I've always heard the MRS degree described! It's usually written Mrs.

The best thing on that other site is definitely the LOST threads!!! :D :D :D

For some reason I keep reading the PPB. It's like a form of masochism.

Agree with the Lost threads, especially BD's!

I never read the PPB.

Yes. It is. But it can be fun and occasionally informative.
