Thanks all for for the swim vibes and I love the vibe pix. Unfortunatley she did not make State as only 1st place goes! Swam well and has another year to conquer Regionals and head to State! Ozzie I have no clue on the events - she swims 200, 500 and mile free in club swim and 200 and 500 free in school as they don't do the mile there! Kid has some talent but the required dedication gets sidetracked sometimes by such things as boys and other fun teen stuff! Still love her and thanks much!

20's in Savannah...brrrrrr!!! Good morning!
We were gonna go to Sea World today but the high in Orlando will be 54.

We aren't going to spend $150 to be cold AND wet.

Do Universal instead...at least it will be dry

Good morning.
It's a bitch when you go to Florida on vacation and it's cold. Yes, do Universal instead of Sea World; you can always do Sea World (or is it Marine World?) in Miami later in the week instead, when it'll be much warmer.

Good morning. Brrr. It was 10 on the deck this morning. It's always about 10 degrees colder on the deck. CB&B and Julie, I'm sure when you get to Key West, the weather will be much warmer.

Everyone stay warm. I'm packing for a business trip to Indianapolis (of all places to go in February!) ugh
Pretty happy with the Blue Devils yesterday!
Hope everyone has a wonderful week!

A few years ago I went to Minneapolis in early February. The high for the week was 6F. We did get down to -9F one night!

Good morning, all!
Woke up with a sore throat and headache this morning. The cold bug has struck! I'm staying home to drink hot tea and watch "How I Met Your Mother" on Netflix.
As an aside, how the heck have I not been watching this show all this time? It's great!

A better morning now, than what it was about 3am.
Duke Power lost the juice to our house and 1951 other customers for a while. I went out to find somebody that might be open with coffee (or a substance that could be considered similar), and discovered that 1/2 mile away...it was a world of lights.

We are in St. Augustine. Spent most of the day yesterday still in Savannah and Tybee Island (cool place) before heading south. Orlando is totally out of the picture, which I'm very happy about. As far as I'm concerned, that place is one giant tourist trap. We drove through the old part of the city last night in the dark to get our bearings, and we are going today to park and do lots of walking around. Julie is thrilled because not only does she get to experience history, she gets to go shopping at the outlets across the street from our hotel, she is an Eddie Bauer junkie. We have a cooler with us, so we pack it with sandwich stuff. We eat breakfast in the hotel, and one meal out, then either lunch or dinner we make out of the cooler.
Later today we will continue on south towards the Everglades. By tomorrow night we will be in Key West.
Good morning!!

Good morning.
Ah, yes! The Ponce de Leon's Fountain of Youth and the alligator farms in St. Augustine! I did that as a kid the first and only time my folks drove us to Florida (from NY). Loved it! It was a 3 day drive each way, and we spent the second night going south near Jacksonville to do St. Augustine the next day, before heading south to Hollywood, Fl., between Ft. Lauderdale and Miami. Now, I drive to Ft. Lauderdale every year (~12 to 13 hours), as we did when OzzieDaughter was a kid, too, to visit my folks. And every year, as we drove past St. Augustine, I'd talk about stopping at the alligator farm, but we were always in a hurry to keep the drive from here to there a one day drive, and never stopped. Finally, I guess when OD was in high school (11 or 12 years ago) we finally stopped on the way north for a couple of hours at my insistence. Eh. Nobody was thrilled and we hit the road again. Spending most of a day there would definitely be better. We have a friend from Smithfield who has a second home in St. Augustine. We wave from I-95 as we drive by, whether they are there or not.

And I'll wave to my friend and think of the alligators on Friday afternoon as I pass by again!
