Really? I'm not a big J-Lo fan. ;) Matty's pretty hot though. A Texan who loves UT and the Redskins.

The UT thing is a strike against him in my book. He's still pretty hot, though.
Oh, and did I mention that I <3 Matthew McConaughey? :ymblushing: :)

Wild. Does that have something to do with market percentages? Just curious. I've never thought about such things.
I don't know. When I flipped to the Publishers section, there were a LOT more publishers that do fantasy percentage-wise than agents. I'd say 1 out of every 6 or so publishers do fantasy. There are a LOT of fantasy and sci/fi novels on the shelves in bookstores these days.

Could it be that fantasy has become available in video games? Or has given way to more sci-fi?

Just looking through lists of agents and publishers right now. Unfortunately, NOBODY seems to want to represent fantasy these days.

%%-
That's a bummer. What's your book about?
Fantasy. Swords, Dragons, and wizards, that sort of thing. I bought the 2010 Writer's Market, but out of 70+ agents listed in there, only 3 of them represent fantasy authors. How crazy is that?

I'm not a big reader at all, I used to be. BUT my wife and one stepson are both avid readers, and they love fantasy more than anything. When I met her she literally had a library of over 1000 books, all sci-fi and fantasy. She is addicted to Robert Jordan. They can't get you a book deal, but she can give you an honest assessment from a reader's point of view. (She is really great with that stuff, she is my personal art critic, and has prompted me to "fix" a few paintings for the better). Also, just because only 3 agents say fantasy, don't limit yourself. It won't hurt anything to at least contact some of the others.

Kinda depends on how bored some of us are over the next few days.

I think today I am going to write a country song:

"The Dog is Drunk, and I am Horny"

Or maybe I'll just do some work around the house.

Maybe so. Or maybe we could talk about Harrison Barnes or John Wall? That'll take all of 2 posts each (unlike the board over yonder). I start winding down my posting frequency tomorrow, as I have to turn in my modem.

Where's CaptainMojo? If he hears about John Wall, he'll be good for at least 4 hours of the postathon. :)) =))
Cheers,
Lavabe

I popped out to the bar where my roommate works but it was dead (it is a long weekend up here) so I had one drink, talked to a couple of friends, and came home. I was in bed by 2:00-2:30 which is extremely rare for me on a Saturday night.
