DWBB heads back to Durham from Charlottesville with an ACC win, but whoboy, it was bad. Took us until the last 5 minutes to finally get a lead.

Lots to work on, especially shooting. (And especially layups, as seemingly always.)

This seemed to be the first couple games where the dreaded "bunny bug" really plagued us. We'll need to do better tomorrow. Cal is a good team.

Statistically speaking, our defense was 45% better than the #1 defense in the country. We just dominated them on that end of the floor. We stole the ball 15 times! They shot 16.7% from three, less than half their average, and they shot threes less than half as often as they normally do. It is hard to overstate how awesome a defensive display that was.

Welcome to the ACC, SMU. Duke blew out the Mustangs tonight 81-46. SMU actually started really well, with 21 points in the first quarter. Then they scored 4, and 9, until finally getting double digits again in the 4th. Duke's defense is so stifling!

DWBB with the gritty road win over #18 GT today. I told Awhom in chat that I didn't see any single digit quarters after the first, but I was wrong, way wrong. We held them to only 5 in the 4th as we sealed the game up. Great defense.

With the win, Duke stays in 2nd place in the ACC.

It's too bad there was great defense on both sides of the ball, but I'm really happy about how our ladies grabbed hold of the game in that fourth quarter and just said to GT, "You ain't gonna score."

Not only is tonight going to be a tough to get win, it's even tougher that it's a Play4Kay game. On her home court. Reynolds is going to be a wicked environment; getting out to a strong start and not ever, ever getting down deep is vital.

Basketball is a lot harder when the defense only shows up for one quarter. I love Toby Fournier, but she was a matador last night. It probably didn't help that Reigan, our best perimeter defender, touch-fouled her way out of the lineup.

That might have been the best game we've played all year. We've had games where we've been better than that on offense. We've had games where we've been better than that on defense. But we've never played a game where we've been that good on both ends at the same time. That game was a masterclass. If we can perform like that on a semi-regular basis, our post-season might get pretty interesting.
