Great news! What an awesome recruiting day for Duke...two future team leaders in the short span of three hours!

Re: 2016 Recruiting
We are up to 10 verbals with five being rated 4* at Scout:
4* - Bracey (WR), Birmingham (TE), Hill (LB), Smith (OT) Surratt (QB)
3* - Deveaux (RB), Kraeling (OT), Miller (OG), Williams (CB)
2* - Hudzick (S)
Time to sign a couple of 4* defensive linemen!

Re: 2016 Recruiting
Targets such as Menet T/G (high4 star...almost a 5 star player) and Yarbrough (solid 4 star Tackle) are still possible.... each have significant interest in other schools, but we're in the game on these guys too. A couple of 4 star linebackers have interest in us and we've already signed Brandon Hill a linebacker with 4 stars on Scout and a top 200 player. Pair him with Humphrey's from our last recruiting class and oh my....
This year is shaping up really well!
I think the d-line will be the last domino to fall for us on the 4 star recruiting.... that may yet be another year away. We signed a big group in 2015 so I wouldn't anticipate a big push for that group until 2017 and possibly 2018. Still, maybe we sign a 1 in the next year. Coach has said before, there's a lot of competition going after stud defensive lineman...more so there than any position on the field. If we either win the coastal this year, we'll put ourselves in a great position to get 4 star commitments from the D-line. At some point we're going to hit the gauntlet of playing Clemson and Florida St...the 4 star guys we are signing now are going to be needed! I really liked last year's class. Shabazz, Cerenord, Price, McSwain, Morris, Boyce, Mugula will be to the defense what Harding, Tomlinson, Coefield, and Simmons were to the offense. We'll just have to be patient, they may struggle some the first time out against the Clemson's and Florida St's, but 3-4 years from now, they'll make us proud.
I'm really excited about next year...and 2-3 years from now too!

Re: 2016 Recruiting
4* Safety Eric Burrell could be next:
http://duke.scout.com/story/1540264-cou ... star?s=167
Additionally, 4* OT Clark Yarbrough will announce his college destination on May 21. He is wide open but Duke is in good shape. The other 4* OT Michal Menet is a strong Penn State lean.

Re: 2016 Recruiting
ESPN recently updated their rankings and OT Robert Kraeling and OG Jaylen Miller are now rated 4*. That means 7 of 10 verbal commits are ranked 4* by either ESPN or Scout:
Scott Bracey - 4* on ESPN & Scout
Mark Birmingham - 4* on ESPN & Scout
Chazz Surratt - 4* on ESPN & Scout
Robert Kraeling - 4* on ESPN
Jaylen Miller - 4* on ESPN
Brandon Hill - 4* on Scout
Liam Smith - 4* on Scout
Player camps will take place in June and July so we should see some recruiting activity during those months.

Duke needs a FG Kicker in the 2016 Class and the guy they want is J.J. Molson:

Dylan Singleton, Deondre Singleton's younger brother, is a 4* Safety on ESPN and Scout. Georgia leads right now:

Re: 2016 Recruiting
Here is an article which recaps the recent visit of DE prospect Houston Miller (6'3" 228):
http://duke.scout.com/story/1541731-hou ... duke-visit
Miller has Power 5 conference offers from Duke, Boston College, California, Iowa and Vanderbilt.
http://duke.scout.com/story/1541731-hou ... duke-visit
Miller has Power 5 conference offers from Duke, Boston College, California, Iowa and Vanderbilt.
Miller could see his stock rise as the spring evaluation period continues, especially after his eye-opening testing performance at Nike's The Opening Dallas regional camp in mid-March, when he ran a 4.67 laser-timed 40 and recorded a very impressive 4.18-second pro agility, possibly easing concerns about his ability to move laterally in space when playing as a stand-up defender.

I'd like to listen to/read Cut's next conversation/text with Messrs. Yarbrough and Menet now that Laken was a first round selection in the NFL draft yesterday . C'mon down to Durham, gentleman.

Bob noted OY that we now have 11 verbals for 2016 and 8 of them are 4*. That's damned impressive.CameronBornAndBred wrote:Bob Green wrote:4* RB Brittain Brown has committed to Duke:

Re: 2016 Recruiting
I would say that gives us hands down the best big sports recruiting duo in the country. In fact, with Coach P, I would say we have the best recruiting trio, no contest.devildeac wrote:Bob noted OY that we now have 11 verbals for 2016 and 8 of them are 4*. OT Clark Yarbrough has pushed his announcement to "sometime in June." He was originally set to announce on May 21, but says he needs more time to decide.

Parker Braun is another OL name to keep your eye on:
http://espn.go.com/college-sports/footb ... rker-braun
He is a 4* on ESPN and a 3* on Scout. The Devils Den has an article up on him:
