DukePA wrote:No bowl game for Stevo and me after all. Thank you NC state government. They have essentially privatized Medicaid and taken money from our patients and providers to line corporate pockets for "managing" our system. Our practice has 4 clinics in eastern NC and multiple providers. We were paid $36 for our October Medicaid billing and the November check was almost as pathetic. Because of the patient population we serve, we don't have enough privately insured billing to survive. I won't be paid until after the first. Happy effing holidays to us! Not. We have undergone audits and passed with flying colors. We do a lot of pro bono work and take good care of our patients despite the excessive new hoops and regulations they've forced on us. I think they want us out of business. If we can't take care of our patients, who are among the most seriously mentally ill, people will wonder why there is a rise in violence, suicide, and G-d knows what. Anyway, sorry for the public policy rant. I'm a little pissed off because Stevo and I can't afford to go to Atlanta, but hugely pissed off for my patients. We could use some CTN vibes. I hope our practice survives. Carry on.

I understand and feel your pain. Like you, myself and other professional workers we are clearing less Net pay for the rising cost of living. And having to give up the Fun activities like games or traveling to games. :(
I have friends that work in agenices were the Medicaid billing is crucial for the business to thrive.
Vibes for all of us for the 2014 New Year

I am ashamed of myself for being a bad sport last night. I should be used to Duke getting screwed by bad calls, but FOUR missed pass interference calls. SMH in disgust. I can't stand to see our guys robbed. They played their hearts out. I am so, so proud of them. What a magnificent team. Forever Duke!!!

The substitute judge I sometimes practice in front of (Chip, that would be Judge Greenwalt) sent me a message on FB last night after the game is over, suggesting that I seek charges for robbery against the referees last night after the calls at the end. He also thought JM would need a stalking warrant against the commentators for their, um, over the top behavior.

He is a graduate of Richmond and a true fan of schools who actually have academic standards. Further, he saw his team get screwed against unc some amount of decades ago, and has a long memory. :9f:

Couple really, really good articles about Duke FB from the Raleigh N&O today. Page 1. Sports section. Both articles. Think about that for a minute or two.

I wasn't in the dadgum Christmas, err, New Year's spirit much Tuesday night or yesterday. I'm much closer to that now after some additional pondering what we accomplished this season and reading those two articles.

All I'm getting is a "broken link" message from the N&O. I'll go in and search manually.

I've had that problem with the N&O before. I checked both links before I posted and they worked. I swear they must time out somehow. X(

I think since you copied your post from OY, it copied the shortened link and not the link itself. I've done that too. ;) You need to click "edit" OY, or here, and then copy your original post before pasting it in the other thread.
