EuroLeague Women action was mostly on Wednesday, starting in Group A, where the star power of Russia UMMC Ekaterinburg still needed a fourth quarter comeback to outlast Bourges of France 57-52. Sue Bird was the player left out of the mix so Candace Parker had 16 points and 20 rebounds to lead the way and Diana Taurasi had 15 points. Also in this group, Slovakia's Good Angels Kosice recorded a 75-64 win over Hungary's Gyor. In the win, ex-Texas Tech player Plenette Pierson had 22 points and 10 rebounds and ex-West Virginia player Yelena Leuchanka had 11 points and 10 rebounds. In the loss, the players that Gyor brought in on short notice had a big impact as rookie Joslyn Tinkle from Stanford had 18 points and 8 rebounds and ex-Gonzaga player Courtney Vandersloot had 14 points and 6 assists while holdover Dannielle Diamant, a rookie from Northwestern, had 13 points.
