Yes, indeed I do. A liberal arts education develops the skills that are necessary for lifelong learning. :D ;)

Didn't do that. Will have to go check that out now.

Lots of interesting people. I share a birthday with John Wesley - that's almost as cool as sharing a birthday with devildeac!

Of course, it was his birthday first.... ;) :D

My wife has two scratch cakes she likes for her birthday. Coconut cake and German chocolate cake. She tells me which one she wants about two weeks before her birthday each year, and I make sure to buy the ingredients and bake it for her.

I'll let you know a couple weeks before my b-day next year, too. I love me some home made coconut or German chocolate cake.

Short of climbing a tree, and breaking one open and then shaving the coconut.... how DOES ONE MAKE home made coconut????

I made from scratch a pineapple cake with coconut icing and almond filling for my girl, cake and icing and all... and I think she enjoyed it.... the cake pan came back mangled so I envisioned a fight for the last piece... however, it was repairable.... :D

Bunchofnumbers makes a delicious cake! YUM!

And it wasn't the cake pan that was mangled--it was the cake carrier that was bent out of whack.

Me: I hate writing briefs. I think I'll get [the summer associate] to write this brief for me.
Receptionist: What's wrong with briefs? I like them, especially boxer briefs.
Legal Secretary: Legal briefs, honey. We're a law office.

I told my wife your "brief" story, and she got a kick out of it. She agrees with you. There are few things she hates getting from a patent attorney more than an appeal brief.

Thanks, Lavabe! I stretched the celebration out over several days. Made a pilgrimage to Ted Drewe's yesterday; bought a new iPhone today. Got to the Apple store at 6:45, was out the door and on the way to work at 8:30.

I'm enjoying the stories of your adventures in Madagascar. Keep 'em coming!
