Re: Never name a dog Lucky!
Checking in on Lucky (and the OP) - hope he is on the mend. Dogs are definitely less trouble than husbands when they are sick/injured...a couple of pats on the head, a soft place to sleep and a litte extra love is all they require.
We'll have to nominate Ima for the 'Nurse in Residence'...if I ever get around to getting my knee fixed, I'm coming to your house.

Sure thing! Come to Duke and bring your knee. Best ortho bunch around. And my house for re-hab comes supplied with plenty of spirits and TLC!windsor wrote:Checking in on Lucky (and the OP) - hope he is on the mend. Lucky's doc was a bit disappointed in his progress today, however. She would like to see him putting weight on it more by now. We are to resume full dosage of pain meds and Rimidyl and she'll see him again in two weeks. Staples came out and there are no visible signs of trouble, just lack of progress. She thinks maybe the additional work she had to do on the meniscus may be the villain giving him more pain.
Love, Ima

Jester sends Lucky a big ol' sloppy wet labby kiss to keep him on the road to full recovery!

Any and all warm fuzzies and dog nuzzles appreciated! The luckster still isn't putting that foot down very much. We'd love to see more progress. Keepin' the faith.

It takes longer for an old dog to heal. I'm a prime example. Willie still stays off his left foot as much as possible.

Perhaps Lucky is enjoying being waited on hand and foot, and basking in affection and attention.
Labs are pretty smart. I wouldn't be in a hurry to get better
