I will order tix this afternoon.

I have the following noted as attending:

Ozzie
Bjornolf
Tilly
K68
Wilson
CathyCA and son

Anyone else?

Wilson, if you need a place to crash you can have my couch/futon. My other guests have indicated it's pretty comfortable.
Please get me two tickets. Mrs Ozzie is going to join us!

She is going to accompany you to a sporting event? WTH? Has she lost her mind? Does she need counselling? ;) :))

Sorry I won't be able to make it folks. May not be until a brunchgate to meet y'all for real. We're going to the Bulls with my office the week before, so I don't think I can drag the family out again the next week. And today I find out that our best friends are having their son's baptism and first birthday party that same day. So, definitely a no-go.

Have fun!

LOL. No emotional attachment to the teams. Wait! Check that. Aren't the Bulls playing the S-WB Yankees? :D

They are. Does this mean you'll be wearing your Yankee hat? I will definitely be wearing my Bulls hat.

Everyone, I am waiting to hear from one person, thus will not buy the tix until tomorrow. If anyone wants to join/back out, let me know.

I mentioned the tix were $8, I forgot to mention the $1+ charge (I don't care about the + part), so in actuality tix will be $9.

Is the Scranton-Wilkes Barre team no longer known as the Red Barons? That's a shame. Minor league teams should never, ever, ever, ever, ever sport the same name as the parent club (and yes, I am aware that the Braves organization is in part guilty of this). I mean, come on, isn't the "Savannah Sand Gnats" better than the "Savannah Mets"? I could go on. And on. And on and on and on.

Since I DEFINITELY wouldn't be staying for the whole game, how much are tickets now? I haven't been to a Bulls game in 15 years, and I hear they've even got a new place since then. ;)

The exterior is quite similar to lovely Turner Field, too. Designed by the same people, actually.

The PawSox are the exception to this rule. They've been the Pawtucket Red Sox - PawSox - forever. They shouldn't change.

BTW, I read this thread to feel jealous since I won't be joining you and now I find out Tilly has enticed wilson to sleep on her couch!! I don't know whether to feel jealousy or awe. Nice work, Ms. Galore.

August 15th I head to the Catskill Mountains for a week long playwright's retreat.

Since we're down to a couple weeks before the game, who's interested in meeting for dinner before? When should we meet, and where? I'm not familiar with the area around the new park, so I don't know what's there. Speaking of which, does anybody have the address of the new park so I can get directions? Don't bother looking it up, I can do that. I was just lazy and thought somebody might know it.

If I were going, I'd suggest Tyler's Taproom which is a couple blocks from the DBAP and park in the adjacent garage. If you get there early enough, it might be free. No need for directions, just take the Derm Freeway and get off at Exit 12 A, B or C and you are a block from the park which is highly visible from the Freeway.

I'm so confused. I thought you WERE still gonna try to make it, DD. Or is that only if I were going to Sami's? I'm lost, as usual. ;)

Are any of them an aisle seat? If so, I'd like to request it. I'm of a rather, um, large girth, so trust me, none of you want my ass in the middle where I can't "spread out". :-o Not if you value your health. ;)

I would certainly make the effort to drive from the coast to Smithfield to have dinner with you and Ozzie at Sami's, but driving back and forth from the coast all on a Saturday afternoon/evening/night would be really a long day so I don't think I'll make it, especially with my wife driving down that afternoon after her bridal shower. :(( :(

I'm going to be there, along with my Sam and MyMama. It will be a bittersweet evening for me, as my Sammy leaves the following morning for California, and I won't see him again until Thanksgiving. :(( I'm looking forward to seeing all of my CTN buddies, and to enjoy an evening with the Durham Bulls. :D

Yes, let's eat at Tyler's Tap Room. Is anyone going to the Cutcliffe tour stop there on Friday 8/7? I'll be there for that too. Chris - are you showing your paintings there?

Mrs. Ozzie has been asking me all sorts of baseball questions this evening, as we were driving back from Florida and listening to the Yankee game on XM. She's not a novice, as she's watched me play softball on occasion for years - she even played a few games on our coed team.
