I think it's likely that he'll declare and not hire an agent; this year's field is going to be packed, so that would be the wise choice for him, to get a better sense of what his chances are, and what to work on if he decides to come back next year.

More than what Kyle is thinking, I'd love to know K's opinion. He will give Singler his best advice, I'd really like to know what he says to him.devildeac wrote:You folks are making too much sense. Of course you are! (look down at the bottom right of the this thread, you'll see where it says "quick mod tools", you can change that to "merge topic".)CathyCA wrote:Hey! How do you do that?CameronBornAndBred wrote:Playing BIg Bad Mod...I'm going to merge this with the other Kyle thread.

I never saw the 'quick mod tools'. I browsed around in the moderator control panel and couldn't figure out how to merge threads. Should've asked, right? ;)

I stand with this line of thinking. Therefore...Beware.Lavabe wrote:I will play Devil's Advocate ( ) and say that as each day goes by, the more he is going to stay and graduate. I don't think his draft status will be too high, given the vast swarm of people already declaring. And shoot, we're also forgetting about the European players as well.
No... he's staying... 67/33.

Or could it be that Calipari will, of course, replace them with more of the same, as would ol' roy?

Odds update: 69/31 staying: Word has it that he's now weighing staying another year so that he represents "S" on EarlJam's alphabetical list of Duke men's basketball players. ;)captmojo wrote:I stand with this line of thinking. Guess Kyle doesn't read CTN...or does he?????"I'll probably declare or not," he said. "I don't want to test the waters. I don't see any value in that."

Re: Is Kyle leaving?
That was the most intriguing quote. I don't see how it's NOT of value. I think Nolan should do it just for the experience. He's said he's coming back, but I think it would good just to see what will be expected next year. Same with Kyle, if he doesn't go, that's great, but at least take advantage of the opportunity.gadzooks wrote:Guess Kyle doesn't read CTN...or does he?????"I'll probably declare or not," he said. Re: Is Kyle leaving?
Yeah, I was surprised that he said he sees no value in it; I think it can be extremely valuable for a player planning on returning to get direct feedback on what teams are looking for and what to work on in the coming year.

He's "teeing it up" for when he declares so that fans wan't ask, "Did he hire an agent!?"gadzooks wrote:Yeah, I was surprised that he said he sees no value in it; I think it can be extremely valuable for a player planning on returning to get direct feedback on what teams are looking for and what to work on in the coming year.
He gone.
I hope I'm wrong.
He'll announce before long.
And end this game of pong.

Re: Is Kyle leaving?
First off, I wish Kyle good luck with whatever he decides. As a fan, I would love to see him return and go for back to back championships. But I know you got to make hay while the sun shines.EarlJam wrote:He's "teeing it up" for when he declares so that fans wan't ask, "Did he hire an agent!?"gadzooks wrote:Yeah, I was surprised that he said he sees no value in it; I think it can be extremely valuable for a player planning on returning to get direct feedback on what teams are looking for and what to work on in the coming year.

That being said, I think he'll be back. I know I might be grasping at straws, but with the sheer number of players coming out early might put him on the edge of the second round and out of the guaranteed money. Most mock drafts have him in the mid to upper 20's. nbadraft.net has him at 17, but that's balanced out by flagrantfouls.com having him at 35. Interesting stuff even though I know the staff and the Singler's won't be using interweb mock drafts as part of the decision making process.
Scheyer seems to be in a number of the mocks in the late second round. Zoubeck as well - which is funny considering he's essentially taken that spot from Deon Thompson
Here's a site with links to of a number of the mock drafts:

I was astounded to see Easy Ed's name in the top 5 on a few of those.

Yeah, it looks like Ed will go in the lottery. It might be fun to watch him go against NBA big mendevildeac wrote:I didn't look on any subsequent pages so where is John Henson's name?Jesus_hurley wrote:

Funny thing about Henson is that the bottom few mock drafts were all released before the season started and a number of those have him in the lottery. If Roy had played him at the 4 all year he probably would already have an agent.
