Re: The Masters
I've been impressed by the leaders. It's gotta be tough to go in with the lead on Sunday and play well with the pressure. Neither has folded, although they haven't improved their scores either. But when you have the lead, there is nothing wrong with a solid roung. Ask Greg Norman.

Re: The Masters
FWIW, this is one of the best pairings I have seen in a while.
Woods now at -9, barely missing eagle on 15 from 12 ft away. Mickelnuts BLOWS an eagle from 3.5 feet away at 15. Mickelnuts now at -10..
WOW!
ETA: Meanwhile, no one else matters for CBS.

Hell, Curtis Strange won a US Open with 18 pars on Sunday. I forget if it was the 1988 one or the 1989 one.CameronBornAndBred wrote:I've been impressed by the leaders. Am I wrong, or have they moved the traditional Sunday pin placement at eleven? It used to be over by the pond and now it's on the far right.

After 16 Woods and Mickelnuts are at -10. Perry blowws a chance to make him go to -12. Instead, he's one stroke ahead of the dynamic duo.

I'd rather be Perry, he has plenty of golf left.Lavabe wrote:After 16 Woods and Mickelnuts are at -10. Perry blowws a chance to make him go to -12. Instead, he's one stroke ahead of the dynamic duo.

Re: The Masters
AWESOME Kenny Perry. 2 on the twelfth.
The late groups still have the easy holes left, while Phil & Egomaniac are done with them. I am still optimistic. This would be a life-changer for Perry. And he would be the oldest champion in major history.

Re: The Masters
Eldrick the alleged messiah with the Bogey-bogey finish. Field 1, Tiger 0. 8-)
Mickleson rebounded from the bad decision on twelve, but the flat stick really deserted him and he left strokes on the course at fifteen and seventeen. He's the LITC though.
I am still optimistic for Perry. Campbell would be fine with me, but Perry's older and doesn't have much time left to win his first major. (I remember Ray Floyd making late runs at the Masters in 1990 and 1992). I may be foggy on this, but I think Perry was a contender in that 1991 PGA where Big John came from nowhere at Crooked Stick.
Cabrera would be fine too, but he already has a US Open.

Re: The Masters
Perry just stuck it at sixteen. Campbell had just missed a short birdie putt. As my old man says, Age before Beauty.

Re: The Masters
Couldn't believe Campbell missed that playoff putt! I thought Perry had the Jacket until that last drive off the fairway, OMG, I hate it when that happens..... and Cabrera lays up about 15ft from hole. Uh OH :o

Re: The Masters
Congrats Cabrera - earned that one! You had a good playing partner! Perry almost had that for another sudden death! Maybe next year!

Re: The Masters
Perry was gracious, he let the nerves get to him. Understandable. I was pulling for him.
