We didn't put up our tree this year for two reasons...
1. We won't be in town anyways.
2. The cat. The cat is still on the kitten side, and loves to climb everything and anything.
We gots 3 cats but this is the only one who climbs the tree. One of the others is too fat (pushing 20 pounds) and the other is too prissy to be seen doing something like that.

We found our climber in the woods - good story behind it too:
My kids played in the Hillandale soccer league this year and early in the season we got an email that a bobcat had been spotted around the fields my daughter played on. During her practice one day I decided to go for a walk in the woods (despite the warning...) and my wife and son tagged along. As we were walking into the woods I turned to them and said 'Watch out for the bobcat' jokingly. About 20 feet in we see a kitten. It took my wife and son about 5 minutes to get him to come over to them and of course he had no tags, un-fixed, etc. They handed him to me to carry out and put in the car where he was taken home and then to the vet the next day.

His name? Bobb Catt :D

And when he's not in the tree he can be found in the dish drainer, the bathroom sink, the kid's toyboxes, under the easy chair or under my feet. As I am walking up or down the steps....
love your story.

I think the ones you gave us still fit her (barely), but if you have ones your boys have grown out of, I won't say no. ;)

Sorry... I'm just not into inflatable lawn ornaments. We're inundated with them here. Nothing says Christmas better than an inflatable Tigger with a red cap. Or perhaps the polar bear in the sidecar motorcycle entitled POLAR EXPRESS. I think these really get at the spirit of Christmas. ;)

20 months is a very hard time to get a kid to sit with Santa.

Well, it's good to know that Katie's stranger detector works. No fat old bearded guy is going to be able to kidnap her away from you.

And that poor Santa. He has such a sympathetic look on his face.

That Santa is great. Same one we brought her to last year. He's very sweet with the kids. And always give them a "God Bless you child" before they go away.

Very cute! Do they wait for you to get the tree lights on and camera set up before they are allowed to go down?

My mom doesn't put up a tree any more, so they only had to wait long enough for that picture to be taken--they got to open one present right away, and had to wait for their aunt and cousin to get there before they could do the rest.
