A hearty second. I have long felt that
O Canada is a beautiful anthem, and I can really get behind a moment of such joyous patriotism, as I am given to such moments myself.
We do have a pretty cool anthem eh?

A hot goalie can single handedly win a game as Miller clearly demonstrated against Canada* - and there is usually no answer for a goalie who is on top of his game. The puck looks like a beach ball to those goalies and they stop everything thrown their way.
* Canada didn't play well but played well enough to win had it not been for Miller.

Most of it. Canada played with verve and energy, and Russia played like a bunch of sissies. Canada will be tough to beat from here on out.

Only if they keep playing that way. If they slip back into bad habits they will be beatable.

Don't look now, wilson, but the Canadians are now in a threeway tie with the US and Germany for the most gold medals.

I'm well aware of this. I'll applaud our neighbors to the north while continuing to heartily cheer a superb overall effort from Uncle Sam.

And we've got a
very good chance of winning gold in men's curling, women's curling, and women's hockey. If the Canadian men's hockey team continues to play like they did last night they will be tough to beat as well.

Stupid prospective students' weekend. I'm gonna miss the entirety of the women's hockey gold medal game while schmoozing with a bunch of people who aren't good at schmoozing, only to arrive home just in time for...women's figure skating.

If Joannie (ladies figure skating) wins a medal of any sort, all of Canada will be cheering.
I can't fathom what will happen if Joannie wins a gold medal.
I, for one, hope that the Japanese and Korean leaders ahead of her each fall twice in their programs. That's the only way she'll have a chance at a gold.

I'm certainly rooting for Joannie.

The Canadian women's hockey coach looks like she could kick your ass to Mexico.

She wouldn't kick your ass to Mexico. She would, however, slap shot your ass all the way there.

Dude, that isn't just in the US. When I read the opening sentence of your post the first thought that ran through my head was 'What the fuck is nordic combined?!?'
Maybe their medals and the fact that these games were held in Canada (although I'm still not convinced that Vancouver, or any other part of British Columbia, is
actually part of Canada) might help raise the profile of that sport here in North America.
