WTA = Who's The Asshole.

The art evaluating your actions/re-actions to an event to make sure the other guy, and not YOU looks like the asshole.

WTA is critical in the Gospel According to Windsor. Learn it, live it, pass it on to those who have to deal with assholes and are not, themselves, assholes.

Interesting day today. First off, I found out that Red Dragon managed to get one of my collaborators evicted from his lab space, and The Boss did absolutely nothing. Doogie (another colleague) swears that The Boss is as scared of Red Dragon as everyone else is. I must say, it's really encouraging to hear that Red Dragon is free to do whatever she wants and The Boss will not intervene.

Secondly, I had a phone call from BGS. She talked me up to her current boss, who happens to be a power player at Wash U. Long story short, he wants to see my CV. This could be very good, but he needs to work fast. I expect the offer from NW to arrive next week. With recent events around here, I really think it would be best for me to get out while I can.

Thanks, all! Just sent 2 emails to Wash U: one to BGS' boss and one to a church friend (from my StL days) who happens to be in the same department. Crossing all fingers that something will happen quickly with this particular opportunity!

Pet peeve word: addicting. It seems to me as though people use this word when they should be using "addictive." O grammatically astute friends, am I missing something? Is this a word created by social media? I cannot remember ever hearing this word before 2-3 years ago, when it made an appearance on Facebook.
