Then again, BD may need to be the archivist. :D

Well, the prospects are looking strong to quite strong that I've lost my hat. Best I can figure is that I dropped it somewhere between my car and my apartment yesterday (totally possible). Irritating, but really not something I'll fret a great deal about. The question of my having or not having a Braves hat in my life is simply not even a question, so if it comes to that, I'll be buying another when I get back to Atlanta, end of story.

Hmmmm, how to respond to that?

Nope, there's no way without getting into trouble.

Yea, BD, I think I'd just leave that one where it lay. Pun intended. ;)

Why do you have to buy it in Atlanta?

At first I was scared that this was THE hat...as in the pirate hat. That would have been a true loss.

I got my alumni associaton card today, and 2 other cards. The other 2 cards let me in for free to a bunch of art museums all across the country (reciprocal membership). I don't know why one card doesn't cover both..but it's cool. One of the museums is the NC Museum of Fine Art...I haven't been there in years.

Sue, I never heard (or may have missed it in another thread) - how did the apartment fire start? I'm going to assume it wasn't in your apartment....

Au contraire, mon frere (ok not a frere but you get the idea...).

My oven caught on fire. There was no food in it at the time. First time I'd turned it on.

Maybe they wanted another cookie. Can't eat just one.

My neighbor's oven almost caught on fire, but he WAS cooking. I watched it as the whole element sparked itself down to a nub. It was turned off, but just kept burning itself until nothing was left.

On more than one occasion, I've been with friends who wanted to go there, and opted instead to stand on the sidewalk and wait for them. I refuse to ever return.
I find Marble Slab wholly superior to Cold Stone. CS's ice cream is way too sweet and rich just by itself, let alone with all the mixins they try to foist upon you. Nothing beats Marble Slab's sweet cream n' strawberries. =p~ =p~ =p~

There's a particular model that I wear that they sell at Lids. No Lids here in Charleston.

I watched the exact same thing happen in my first apartment ever, on Watts St. in Durham.

Nope, that one's still safe. Will be donned again a few times this fall.

OMG, really?! That's TERRIBLE! Seriously, I can see how insurance companies would be pointing the blame around (appliance @ fault? user@fault? apartment complex @fault?) - no wonder they're causing you pain, but man oh, man, Sue, so much sorrier to hear.

Hope you hit up your favorite ice cream store EVERY single night this week.
