(pretty good discounts too!)

After further consideration, I think I'll go with this...

Hearty congrats and best wishes for another 25 more (at least)!

Sitting in court with Part-Time Cliff. His defendant is trying to defend herself from assault on a police officer because she has "grandma" seizures. :9f:

Whew, thanks for asking CathyCA, I am a grandma and don't think I've ever had a "grandma seizure"! :D

Would that be "grand mal" seizure?

http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/grand- ... re/DS00222

One time in high school a bunch of us were asked to volunteer for a fundraiser to benefit an epilepsy foundation. It consisted of standing on a bunch of streetcorners in Pittsburgh begging for change and handing out flyers. (but hey, we didn't have to sit through Trig, and we also got to go with the girl's high school a few blocks away!) We asked, "Would you like to donate to epilepsy research?" One guy replied, "Sure, since I'm an epileptic." I was so ashamed I felt like I wanted to crawl under the sidewalk...

Grand mal seizures.

My BFF had epilepsy until part of her brain got removed, about 15 years ago. I'm VERY familiar with seizures. If that woman has seizures I will eat my office computer.

Just want to thank you all for the vibes, prayers and hugs for my friend's daughter who was in the helicopter crash. She is out of intensive care, up with a lot of assistance, a walker and a very uncomfortable looking brace but smiling and moving. She is looking forward to being able to go home in the near future to finish recuperating! Vibes always work! Every one of you are the BEST! :ymhug:

Seen on neighbor's business truck:

Emergency Restoration

24/7 Emergency fire, water, wind and mold

WTH?

Since when did mold become a 24/7 emergency???

For when I write "THE BOOK:"

One of my clients came in to my office today and told me that he had taken a class in business law over at the local college. He told me that his professor used to be a lawyer, but that she wasn't just a regular lawyer.

"What do you mean?" I asked, thinking that perhaps she had an S.J.D.

"She's got a juris doctorate degree. You know, a J.D. after her name."

I very quietly responded, "All lawyers have the J.D. It's required."

"Oh."

I cannot make this stuff up.

Another vignette for "THE BOOK:"

My client this afternoon showed me a cell phone picture of her little girl in her Halloween costume. "Look! She's Snow White!"

And there was her little girl, just as brown as she could be, in a Disney Snow White costume. She was precious.

I'm trying not to overthink this thing, but I did think about it a lot this afternoon.

Not sure where to file this, but the young Turk males and their friends are apparently watching too much rural-based reality TV judging from the latest adolescent slang. Pretty funny for suburban Philly white boys, unless you happen to be caught in the middle of it...

Examples:

"Did you see my bookbag anywhere?"
"Yeah dude, it's over yonder by the door."

"Hey, would you mind bringing my phone hither?"
"No prob." (whips cell phone at brother's head; dad intervenes by distributing generous amounts of dope slaps to both participants)

<sigh>

(I am NOT going to tell them that in some circles, you can use the abbreviation "OY")

My colleague Wile E. Coyote lectured today in the course I'm involved in. It struck me, in the middle of his lecture, that he sounds like he learned to speak English by listening to Cartman on South Park. :| I mentioned this to MacGyver later. He cracked up and said he will never be able to keep a straight face from here on out while having a conversation with Wile E. Coyote. In other words, he agreed with me. :9f:
