As the Bunsen Burns

First off, the quote of the day from Friday. The Boss was speaking to a visiting seminar speaker and told him, "I need to be sure to introduce you to (Wile E. Coyote). If you want to do serious (instrumental analysis), he's the guy you really need to talk to." This conversation happened right outside my office. Blessedly, I didn't laugh. After they were out of earshot, I called MacGyver. His immediate response was a huge burst of laughter, followed by, "How much longer is it going to take (The Boss) to figure out how clueless (Wile E. Coyote) really is?" At this point, I think the answer could very well be "never." Road Runner's response was an eye roll. Overall, we like that everyone is being sent to Wile E. Coyote as our departmental expert. It gives us time to do other things. :ymdevil:

The Gang of Three (MacGyver, Road Runner, and I) is meeting with the representatives from the instrument company tomorrow afternoon to hash out all sorts of details for our proposal. Preliminary version of our proposal has to be submitted to the Provost's office by the end of the week for approval before submission to the company by the 30th. We are also on the Provost's schedule for next month for a "dog and pony show" to tell him about the facility we're establishing. Should be fun. :9f:

I'm planning a trip to Texas to visit my cousin, in November. Another cousin, Judy is also going. We fly into Houston. Melinda will pick us up, then to Nederland. About 60 miles. We will be there for a few days, then we're going to Austin for a few, then off the San Antonio. Judy and I will fly back home from Austin. What a time we will have. :happy-bouncyblue: :happy-bouncyblue: :happy-bouncyblue:

I'll try to work on my slackness. My excuse for no posts last week was no connectivity at the lake.

What a rough two weeks - last week at the lake, at the office on Monday and Tuesday, now in PA to watch tennis.
