The mathematician who did all the geometry stuff? Or was he a scientist who did other things?

Fortran is short for Formula Translation.

Not sure about the other two...

COBOL - ol is likely operating language

BASIC - Input commands?

I'll quit wasting everyone's time.

Okay, one free dictionary says midnight to noon. Not sure I agree.

I'm beginning to think we should do some "spork whoring" over yonder. Any thoughts on how to accomplish this?

Who are you to argue with a free dictionary?

And by free, not library free, but content written and provided free. Perhaps I should have checked the urban dictionary for its definition of morning.

While I was in St. Louis (aside from 3 visits to Ted Drewes), I got a property manager to handle leasing my condo. Before leasing, he wanted to do all the things I talked about doing before listing (painting, replacing outdated light fixtures), and he also wanted to replace the window treatments. I just looked at the pictures online (it's listed on Craig's List), and it looks fabulous. If I had done all this work before listing the first time, as I originally wanted to do, the place probably would've sold at an amount close to my original list price. Oh, well. Now I just want the place to lease quickly to make my investment pay off!

I just learned something really, really iteresting. While at the big conference last week, I learned that PH(former)B managed to hire a tenure-track faculty member to work with him. What I did not know, and just found out, that the new person has a faculty appointment in Pushy PI's department. For those of you who are aware of the "interesting dilemma" saga, I don't think I need to connect the dots for you. It definitely confirms, at least to me, that I never had a snowflake's chance in hell of having PHB side with me over PPI. It's really hard to compete with that level of political cronyism.

The new guy is in for more trouble than he can possibly realize - unless his ideas for quality research are similar to those of PHB and Pushy PI. If not, he's in for a difficult time. Better him than me. :9f:

I have a pretty good spork total over here, but I don't recall getting any sporks over yonder.

I never did like Paula Deen's food, never did like her Savannah restaurant, nor did I ever like her show on Food Network.
I really hope Food Network replaces her with one of the many good southern chefs out there.

Apparently, I've been in the Bronx and Cancun today charging away. I guess I'll have to stop spending for a couple days while the new card gets here.
