Arkie: Have there been some improvements regarding academic integrity at the old place?

That would be the other major concern. This particular issue would be included in any discussions I might have with Old Boss. I would definitely get in writing that no one would be allowed to change my work without including me in the discussion. I would also not want any sort of association with Pushy PI or The Minion.Lavabe wrote:Arkie: Have there been some improvements regarding academic integrity at the old place?
I need to start mine. Tons of art supply receipts to sift through. Bleah.CathyCA wrote:I just finished my taxes. I am a very happy camper.

I've decided to hold off for a bit longer before making any inquiries to Old Boss. If I decide I want to pursue this, I can bargain from a position of even greater strength if I get a few publications under my belt. I have a few things in the works right now that could generate some nice papers in high profile journals. In addition, my skill set is increasing at a near exponential pace. Again, greater bargaining power if I hold out just a wee bit longer. The down side is that I'd be paying for the old place for that much longer - that is, unless it sells soon.ArkieDukie wrote:That would be the other major concern. A nice box of cigars?lawgrad91 wrote:FB has suggested all day that I should send my old friend Randy a birthday present, since he is 65 today.
Uh, FB, Randy is DECEASED. What, exactly, am I supposed to send a dead man?

FWIW, some Chinese often burn paper replicas of items for loved ones under the idea that they will receive the item in the afterlife. That makes a box of cigars the perfect gift. Both parties could enjoy them, in theory.
Did Jethro try to buy drugs and/or guns from a cop?lawgrad91 wrote:Note to would-be criminals: if it looks like a cop and wants to buy drugs and/or guns from you, it's probably a cop. The cop doesn't have to tell you the truth when you ask, "are you a cop?" and it isn't somehow illegal for him/her to lie.![]()
