Not this last week. He ran into fuel issues late in the race. He finished 31st, and is now in 12th place in the overall standings, in danger of NOT making the Chase.cl15876 wrote:Mark may be old, but he has been doing pretty darn good!!!!!YmoBeThere wrote:Who is going to win this weekend? Just a reminder that this week, the Sprinters are racin' under the lights on SATURDAY night at Bristol.

Re: NASCAR 2009
I hear ya, but I've still got my ol' Mark Martin hats when he started driving the #6 car and he drove with the true racing champs of the sport!!! He is awesome 31st or 12th or #1! I remember those days, like yesterday!!!!Lavabe wrote:Not this last week. He ran into fuel issues late in the race. The truth is that Mark Martin does fairly well at Bristol, but he is in serious danger in the Sprint car Race for the Chase. Then again, wasn't he supposed to retire last year?

Re: NASCAR 2009
Passed by a lot of folks who were obviously on their way to Bristol this weekend, one guy was in a camper all decked out in racing decals, he left from the beach same time we did. I never considered where he was headed until I remembered that I'm only an hour away from the track here in Va. Good thing they aren't closer, the traffic would have pissed me off. All them left turn signals, it will give you a headache.

Umm... you got it after last week's race.YmoBeThere wrote:And for a brief moment, I'm back at #1!
Most of us picked Mark Martin for the Bristol Race, so most of us gained 10 pts.

I saw that article yesterday. The little turd is not playing nicely in the sandbox with everyone else. Not that I care anymore.Lavabe wrote:Tilly might have a new favorite driver:

As for Vickers, I still haven't quite gotten over the little stunt he pulled at Dega a few years back that cost Jr the win. I think my exact words that day were, "he better never darken my doorway or else." He is a talented driver and seems to be coming into his own. I think he will do well and be a top 10 driver, he certainly has the potential.

I wonder what's going to give with Jr after the season. Bad luck seems to follow him everywhere this season. I thought for sure he was going to win last week when he made that run near the end, but he just never could get into the top 3.

He had the fastest car so I'm not sure why he didn't win either. Unless it was all about the fuel and how far ahead Vickers and Gordon were. I am happy for Jr that he did so well last weekend. About damn time!Lavabe wrote:I wonder what's going to give with Jr after the season. Bad luck seems to follow him everywhere this season.
