Re: The Official "Good Morning" Thread
Good morning! How Sweet 16 it is! Two down, four to go!
This past weekend we (Nina and I) were treated to a long weekend getaway to celebrate Nina's birthday, which was in early February, by Nina's daughter and SIL. Originally, they had planned this weekend at the end of January, with us, them, and Nina's two grand kids all going to Marco Island, FL for the long weekend. Unfortunately, her daughter and SIL both tested positive for C-19 the week before, so that trip got cancelled/postponed. It was rescheduled for this past weekend, and instead of going to Marco Island, which is on the southwest southern coast of Florida (near Ft. Myers), we went to Amelia Island, FL, on the very northeast coast tip) of Florida, near Jacksonville, just over the Georgia line. Saved us 7 hours of driving in both directions! I'd never been to Amelia Island, and the reservation was at the Ritz-Carlton! I had never so much as set foot in a Ritz, much less stayed there. Fabulous resort, first class all the way, with absolutely superb service from every employee there! And the weather was perfect for golf (Friday) and the beach (Saturday)!
We watched Friday night's game vs. CSF in the hotel's sports bar. They, the staff, were very accommodating putting our game on most of the TV's there, and "tolerated" our very vocal support of our Blue Devils!
Yesterday's game was more problematic. We left the hotel about 11 a.m. after a farewell breakfast with the family, knowing we wouldn't get home in time for the game. Traffic on I-95 was slow, with many stop and crawl episodes. Got to Florence, SC about 4:15, too early to stop to eat or watch the game, so we ventured on. Got to Rockingham, NC about 5:15, but the one redneck dive we stopped at wasn't somewhere we wanted to spend 2 hours at, so back into the car and on to Asheboro. We found the game on the TV broadcast on our phone, and I watched while Nina drove and she listened to the TV broadcast. We got to Kickback Jack's in Asheboro at halftime, and had a nice dinner watching our victory! There were even other Duke fans doing the same!
1200 viKtories, 99 tournament viKtories, and Kounting! On to the Sweet 16, 4 more wins to go, one at a time!

Harrumph. I think my heart rate is still up from last night.
Today's job at work is sewing up my favorite blazer's hem that has come loose. We are in the midst of a (VERY STUPID) time study, and since I wear the blazer to court, I'm logging it as "court preparation."

Good morning.
Thanks to Kewlswim for buying a ticket to the West Regional that Duke “surprised” me with last night. Duke ticket office did cancel the second ticket.

Good morning!!! Still smiling!
The local CBS late news showed the post game press conference. That was the happiest I’ve seen Coach K in years! He was giddy! Not like giddy, he was giddy!
Three down, three to go!
