The highways should be melted by the time I get up there. Checking out of the luxurious, Super 8.
Pics later. :twitch:
Safe travels to all that may find themselves moving about, today and through this weekend.

Be careful, Capt! I'm sure you'll miss the Super 8. NOT.

Bud is on his way to Kenansville, taking another load of lumber to Dawn's. Bud, Jim and Mark are going to build them a "party barn". Can't wait till it's finished.

SCDOT must be trained by Virginia DOT, or vice versa.

At least, in Va the highways are constructed with a side-to-side crown effect that downslopes toward each shoulder so that they can drain the water off. SC does too, in some cases. But for the most part, SC contructions are mostly quite flat.

In addition, maintainence crews are to know that snow/ice plows should leave the scraped substances off of the pavement. It should be, if at any way possible, to be deposited over bear ground, so that as it melts the water will seep into the ground rather than flow back across the paved surfaces where they can re-freeze if undried.

I do understand, that no more of the mess than they usually get, they just don't know much better. Practice makes perfect. They aren't used to getting it. :twitch: I wish I weren't.

Am watching "Hairspray" right now. It's been a while. Such a fun movie. Still remember when I saw it in the theatre. Took my then 6-yr-old niece to see it and ended up in a discussion of race relations in the 1960s after the riot scene. Try explaining that to a 6-yr-old, even a very bright one. Reason for the confusion? She didn't understand why segregation had existed in the first place. As I said, a very bright girl. :happy-bouncyblue:
