Awesome painting, CB&B.
DinK, it's wonderful you have such great memories of your Mom. I will have a Hershey's Kiss sometime today. I would call my Mom, but I talked to her last night and she doesn't expect to talk to me except on Wednesdays and Sundays. I called her from Charlotte last month on a Saturday (I saw a pink fleece jacket in Dick's Sporting Goods that was perfect for her, but I wasn't sure of the size) and it took me a bit to get her to understand I was fine, I just needed to know: small or medium?

Apropos nothing but that's why I thought to stick it here--
SOMEONE READ OUR BOOK!!

No. Mom would eat 3 at a time. A professional tennis player taught her that - I just don't remember which one.

Whoa, small world. Not that he was your student, but what's it like to see students become their own independent researchers?

No joke! It's one of the best feelings.
Here's a new one for me: two of those former students are PhD students now in the same program, and are now married to each other.

I admire the work, just from reading the article.
I have a curiousity about any links between diabetes and dementia. Any references?

Thanks! But I'm a linguist - haha. I'd have to look that up just like you. I do read a lot about the brain and dementia, but haven't come across anything about diabetes.

OK.
I will ask one other question, related.
Wasn't it determined that something of this nature (TDK) that afflicted King George III?

I did once. I burped for 5 hours, but I don't think it enhanced my mental acuity or energy level.

I could tell a difference. I think it worked.
It tasted awful, though.

I woke up at 3:22 a.m. this morning, worked for an hour and a half and then went back to sleep for a while. That hour and a half was much more productive than my regular day as there were zero interuptions and no distractions.

Clearly, it is an addiction.
