Love, Ima

The update will actually be on Thursday. When I called yesterday to set the appointment he was all booked today and is only in for a couple of hours Wednesday morning so I set my appointment for Thursday afternoon. I did speak to him when I called and he told me to go get some blood tests done (he had given me the requisition form earlier so that I didn't have to go see him just to get it) and that he will have the results by Thursday.
OK, I'll cut you some slack for now, but I'll be back on Thursday.
Love, Ima

I saw my doctor today and he said there is no infection. Apparently what I am feeling is just the aftermath of what I went through but there is no indication of any infection in the ankle at the moment.

He jokingly said that I was being paranoid but then said that, after what I had gone through, I had earned the right to be paranoid - the hard way - and that he didn't blame me one bit and that he would be like that himself.

So the lack of any current infection is good news!

Terrific! Did he order physical therapy? Seems like you should be keeping that thing moving and flexible. Seriously -- what a relief!

Thanks folks.

And yes, he did mention physical therapy (as had the surgeon) but we're going to let it settle down a bit more before going through with that. I see him again in a couple of weeks so I'll discuss it with him then.

Just an update...

...although I am still experiencing pain in the ankle, foot, and shin from whatever damage the muscles, ligaments, and tendons suffered during this ordeal - the scab finally came off so the actual wound itself is now completely healed!!!!!!!!

I hadn't even noticed that it had come off today. It was definitely there yesterday but when my nurse was here this afternoon (the hot one :x ) we realized that it was gone. Maybe it came off in bed last night, maybe it came off in the shower this morning, or maybe it fell off at another time. But who cares when it came off, the only thing that matters is that it is finally gone and that the hole I had in my ankle is now completely covered in new skin!!! The skin underneath is still very sensitive, which is totally to be expected as it is so new, but I suspect that it will toughen up soon enough.

A small milestone in a long healing process, but a milestone nonetheless!!!

I always say where there is enough love, there are always miracles. That's what vibes are for. Once again, they did their job. :D
