Good morning.
Saw in this morning’s paper that the carolina game will start at 12:20 pm. Dammit, another breakfast brunchgate.

Prosecuting. It was a 22 page docket.OZZIE4DUKE wrote:Are you being prosecuted or are you prosecuting? That would dictate how strong your harrumph is!lawgrad91 wrote:Harrumph from traffic court.
Ahem....
This is a good time for me to mention that I have thrown my hat in the ring for General District Court Judge in the Varnish District. (Henry County, Martinsville City, Patrick County.) Judges are appointed by the General Assembly. For whatever good it does, the local Bar is meeting tonight to determine if candidates are highly qualified, qualified, or unqualified. I am supposed to give a 3 minute introductory speech. If my 22 years in this office haven't shown people I know the law and can be fair and respectful to all parties, three minutes isn't going to do it. But if you can send vibes, prayers and good thoughts between 5 and 6 Eastern tonight, I'd appreciate it.

Good morning!
Vibes and prayers will be heading your way. You will be a great judge - just need to keep your harrumph silent on the bench. And probably a few snorts caused by the occasional defendent and lawyer.

Harrumph.
Thanks for all the vibes and good wishes. I feel like things went well. The votes aren't out yet, and they don't mean a huge amount in the grand scheme of things, but they would be interesting.

Harrumph.
I placed second in the bar vote, behind a guy who is in the running for an open Circuit Court position. So now we sit and wait until after the first of the year to see what the shining intellectual lights in Richmond think about their possible judiciary choices. Thank you all for the vibes and prayers and good thoughts.

Good morning!
I had no trick or treaters last night. I guess my treat for the evening was deciding to clean out the old beer in the refrigerator. Being thrifty, I tested the first one (Boulevard Wheat) and it hadn't gone bad. Therefore, I drank it and will look at cleaning them out another night. Bad ones will get trashed and ok ones will be cleaned out in another manner.

DD - I know you think that letting beer go bad is a criminal offense but I'm much more of a wine drinker. These beers have been there so long I have no clue when I bought them and what the occasion was that prompted the purchase.DukieInKansas wrote:Good morning!

Good "TGIF" morning for real this time. I'm headed to the golf course to play in a tournament this morning. We have a shotgun start at 0900.
