The jury is in on the chuck roast pate hamburgers. They LIKED 'em!!!! Go figure. Goes to show ya that ANYthing done on the Big Green Egg tastes good.

Sauteed shrimp and broccoli over rice, tossed salad. Nothing to drink yet. Debating white wine or water. Leaning heavily toward the former. Will be talking to my mom in half an hour, so the wine would be advantageous for happy conversation with her.

Broiled tilapia with salt, pepper, basil, lemon, butter and parmesan cheese accompanied by sweet potato fries (from a bag) and fresh steamed green beans.

sushi!!!

It's our anniversary and my dear man took me out to sushi. We're still new to this town and it's land locked so we've been skeptical of most places. I didn't see my favorite chirashi sushi on the menu and the menu had a lot of fusion items so I wasn't too sure about it. Asked the waiter if the chef could/would do/ever did a chirashi sushi (assorted raw fish over a bed of sushi rice) and it turns out they did

It was double the price of my usual chirashi in LA, and I'd say it was "better" -- the meat quality was on par if not above my usual and there was definitely more meat. It wasn't knock-my-socks-off better but the best I've had in this town yet. There is hope!

OK, before someone (dd) says something, it's NOT an Ozzie ribeye, it's a 12 ounce ribeye. Well, it IS Ozzie's ribeye

Left over beef and green beans from Bobo Noodle House.

After a meat-oriented lunch, I think I'll fix up a sweet and sour veggie stirfry with tofu over white/brown rice.

Salmon cakes (homemade, none of that frozen stuff) with corn and lemon-yogurt dill sauce, steamed broccoli and carrots, mashed sweet potatoes and a dessert to be made later.

Leftover pizza (cheese with eggplant and mushroom) and salad. Water. Maybe a glass of wine later on....

Dinner at Elmo's Diner. Shepherd's Pie for me. Turkey w/ cornbread dressing for her. Kids burger and applesauce for the little 'un.

Dessert at Locopops. Chocolate-thin mint for the Missus. Strawberries-n-cream for Kate. Blueberry-pineapple for me.

Chocolate marshmallow cloud cookies for dessert.

We had filet mignon, corn on the cob, crescent rolls, and baked potatoes off the grill, followed by Wegman's triple berry pie a la mode for dessert. It was yummy.
