According to EarlJam's Facebook posting, the Braves are going to be the wild card.

According to SI.com, Game 3 of the WS may start at 6:55pm Eastern Time, so that kids will be able to see the entire game before bedtime.

Uh, Game 3 is scheduled on a Saturday. Last time I checked, Saturday nights were not school nights.

I think they scheduled it so that kids would be able to see the entire game before watching SNL. ;) =)) :))

Apparently the Braves have forgotten that the MLB season is officially 162 games. X(

Then strikes out Phils in 9th for a Braves WIN.

GO GIANTS GO!!!!

SF leads 2-0 over SD in the 4th.

Braves win. On the road. In the 11th. With Ankiel (WTF?) hitting a HR and Fartsworth holding on to the lead for the W. Do I see ice in Hades?

Sad to say you won't see Billy Wagner back on the mound for a while.
Ankiel is reported to now be the hardest hitter left on the lineup card. 425ft last night, yeah...at LEAST.

Adding another, and more impressive thing, are the number of come-from-behind wins that the Braves have pulled off this year.
:ymapplause: :-ss

Don't put them here :obscene-tolietclaw: just yet!

What happened to Wagner?

Of course, Ankiel only batted about .200 for his stint in Atlanta, so it's quite a show when he actually makes contact. /:)

Well, that one's enough to bring even me out of the woodwork.
No fewer than half a dozen players played crucial roles in last night's incredible win (and for the record, I don't think think they're clearing space in Cooperstown for a single one of them):

-Derrek Lee with two runs scored and a good half-dozen outs saved with deft glovework at first
-Alex Gonzalez with the game-tying double
-Brooks Conrad with the perfect sac bunt to set up Gonzo's 2 RBIs
-Troy Glaus with the mental wherewithal, perfect positioning, and perfect fielding to start the 10th-inning DP
-Kyle Farnsworth with an adventuresome, but in the end effective, 5-out performance for the win (with zero notice, coming in from the bench, rather than the bullpen)
-Rick Ankiel, for obvious reasons

It really does rank up there with all of the most memorable gutted-out victories of the past 20 years, and it's a beautiful encapsulation of the way this team has done business all year long.

As for the closer situation, it obviously sucks that it appears Wags is done. However, I for one have supreme confidence in a two-headed monster of Johnny Venters and Craig Kimbrel, and in Bobby's ability to deploy them very effectively according to the situation.

GO BRAVES!!!
