So today I am traveling to Chapel Hill... On my UNC profile (just keeping my options open  ) I checked that I was a Native American/Eskimo by accident. They sent me an invitation to "Project Uplift" for "Historically Underserved Communities". I assume that this is normally for minorities. Since I'm not actually an Eskimo or Native American, or a minority for that matter, my mom called and asked if they still wanted me to come - they said yes. It's a three day event during which I get to stay in a dorm, eat dinner in a box seat over the football field, and attend a dance along with some other activities. Sadly, I don't really have a say whether I go to Project Uplift or not (Although, I might have anyways. I'm still not sure) Don't worry though, I won't return a Carolina fan. I just thought it was an interesting story.

I should rub noses with everyone I meet, especially the dean. They can't get mad at me if they think it's part of my culture - right? :-?

OK, DA. What happened? I have tried to look it up, and am having no luck. You can't just leave me hanging on this one. How is Northwestern doing?

At least I know that it is ...
OPIE SEASON!!
Sorry Lavabe, didn't mean to cause you angst! :p

On one of the lesser ships (any one that's not the Northwestern or Cornelia Marie), someone was out on the front crab pot pile, trying to tie down a tarp. They were heading out to the fishing grounds, so all the gear was still on deck. He didn't hear the captain's order to get down, nor the urgent cry to 'hang on!' and a HUGE WAVE washed over the whole stack. End of show. So, we don't know what happened to the deckhand.

My guess is, he's fine, just cold & wet, but the wave was certainly big enough to wash him off the pots and off the boat.

IIRC, it was on the Wizard.
